Lagos – First Republic Minister of Information and leader of the Ijaw nation, Chief Edwin Clark has described former president, Olusegun Obasanjo as a corrupt leader who sold everything in Nigeria while in power except the seat of power, Aso Rock.

Speaking in an interview with journalists, Clark said Obasanjo based on his antecedents as a military and civilian leader cannot be parading himself as a saint while labeling others as corrupt.

He said “From what I’ve seen now, yes, Obasanjo is a corrupt man. He sold everything in Nigeria, except Aso Rock. He sold Nigerian Airways; he sold Nigerian Shipping Line; he sold Telecommunication. He sold the pride of Nigerian hotels that is Nicon Hilton”.

“He sold our insurance company and he sold Delta Steel Company through his son Gbenga Obasanjo to an Indian company that could not find money to pay and could not manage it. The same thing he did with Ajaokuta. That’s a man parading himself and telling people that he is not corrupt. Another area that I talked about him, this man is a hypocrite, a liar. He mysteriously and accidentally became Head of State by February, 1976”.

“Now, he was afraid of being in that place. So, he managed and handed over to Shehu Shagari of our party. Now what happened? The man came back after being in prison sponsored by his own military colleagues. A man they bought a form for is today one of the wealthiest former Presidents of the country; he came out, became President for eight years” he said.

How are we sure Aso Villa wasn't sold?... How come the govt has been budgeting money for 'Aso Rock rent' in every budget for ages now?

He was rejected by the yoruba leaders from representing them as president, because they knew he would fail and he failed.

He could not even build legacy for himself as president.

Awolowo built cocoa house for the people, while obasanjo built museum for himself.
