Palm oil is an essential commodity world wide,it is a by products of the oil palm plant.palm oil is a fast moving consumer goods FMCG,it is used for cooking, manufacturing of butter, noodles, soap and serve as raw material needed in many manufactured products.

Nigeria is Africa biggest economy. The population of Nigeria is 170million people and by the year 2020 it will be about 200million people.these ever growing population need food which palm oil powerfully fit in.There is hardly any household without palm oil in their kitchen.

This make it one of the easiest business you can do in Nigeria and make quick money because demand for palm oil is very high.

Within four months. I happen to know places in Nigeria where you can get this product at cheap prices and place where you can sell it at good price, I am going to make everything clear to you on this post…

Here are the things you need to know when starting a wholesale palm oil business.

Secret 1. Secure a Shop – You will need a shop or any safe place for storage. If you have your own house, that will be nice, just dedicate one room for the storage. However, it will be better if you can rent a shop specifically for it preferably near the market.

Secret 2. Look for Places to Buy – There are many places you can get palm oil very cheap and in great quantity in Nigeria. It is available in bulk in various parts of he main palm oil producing states includes Akwa-Ibom, Delta, Bayelsa,Rivers, Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Abia, Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo, Edo,Cross River and Ogun.Travel round these states and source from the various local markets and local palm oil processors.Make sure if you are starting go with a person who has had long experience in palm oil sourcing who has eye, nose for identifying good palm oil.

Secret 3.Transport Your Goods – If you have your own truck or van, that will be fantastic because you can use this advantage to reduce price for your customers and compete with your competitors, but if not, you’d have to make do with hiring. Buy everything you want to buy, get a truck to transport it to your base and store it in your shop.

Secret 4.Selling Your Goods – Wait until the price of palm oil goes up then you open your shop and sell at a very good price. It is a perfect way to invest money instead of keeping it to the bank with peanut paid as interest on fix deposit. It is like buying property and reselling at higher prices later.

Or you can source for palm oil traders or buyers near you OR from far northern states like kano, kaduna,Abuja,Jigawa,Adamawa,Jos,sokoto where palm oil is hot cake. All you need to do is reach out to luxury bus transport companies like young shall grow,GUO,ETC and negotiate the price of transporting 1 keg of palm oil to your choice of northern state then you make you calculation. You can as well use the Nigeria railway system if you are transporting large numbers like 100 25 liters of palm oil because it is safer and cheaper compared to if you use road transport. You will make more profit from these long distance supply but the down time of traveling long distance if you are not a travel person is the only draw back.

Secret 5.High turnover is the bedrock of lucrative palm oil business and not necessarily making high profit from one transaction.IF you have a large consumer base you will make more profit than just storing to sell later, although storing and sell later is a good way to increase idle money in the bank.

Secret 6 Palm oil is cheap between Feb-May and expensive between september-December.
Buy during the cheap months and sell during september to December if you are storing it.

Thanks
