As a new term begins, I will share with you effective tips to handle Learners with speech disorders ie stammering and stuttering.
There is a slight difference between the two.
1.Stuttering :In this case, the speaker tend to repeat sounds and make faces. He tends to utter with involuntary repitations the syllable or sound in his efforts to speak. For example, when trying to pronounce, "drink", he drags the "d" which is the first consonant in "drink 'thus" d... . . d.... rnk".

2.Stammering:the speaker is unable to pronounce any sound or syllables at all. Instead he gasps, hesitates and mumbles the words often with grimaces that is the squeezing or contorting of the face.

4.Those with speech impediment should have professional (expert psycho-medical) advice.
