The Senate of Federal University of Technology Owerri has released a new academic calendar as the students Resume school after a break / strike that lasted for more than 2 months. All students are to pay #12,500 as surcharge fees for the damages done during the protest that resulted to the school break/strike. And they are also required to sign an affidavit to be of good behavior,to be stamped by a recognized court in Nigeria. This is to inform the general public that the Management of Federal University of Technology Owerri has released her Amended 2016/2017 Academic Calendar. The Amended Academic Calendar is written below.. Harmattan Semester 2016/2017 8th May, 2017 — First Year Students Return. 10th May — Second Year & Third Year Students Return 15th May — Fourth,fifth, & Sixth Students Return — Orientation Program for freshmen — Lectures Week 11 22nd May — Lectures Week 12 25th May — Senate 26th May — MATRICULATION CEREMONY 29th May — Lectures Week 13 5th June — Revision 12th June — Harmattan Semester Examinations 19th June — Harmattan Semester Examinations Continues 26th June — Harmattan Semester Examinations Continues 29th June — Senate 30th June — End of Harmattan Semester Rain Semester 2016/2017 9th July — All Students Come into Residence 10th July — Lectures Commences / Lectures Week 1 17th July — Lectures Week 2 24th July — Lectures Week 3 27th July — Lectures Week 4 31st July — Lectures Week 5 7th August — Lectures Week 5 14th August — Lectures Week 6 21st August — Lectures Week 7 28th August — Lectures Week 8 31st August — Senate 4th September — Lectures Week 9 11th September — Lectures Week 10 18th September — Lectures Week 11 25th September — Lectures Week 12 28th September — Senate 2nd October — Revision 9th October — Rain Semester Examinations Begins 15th October — Rain Semester Examinations Continues 21st October — End of Rain Semester 26th October — Senate 23rd October to 26th November — Vacation 27th November — 2017/2018 Academic Session
