This was ment to hold the bones in a fixed positon while the healing process takes place, But anyone who has ever had a fracture around the foot, can tell you how painful and itchy it can be.

Why the pain and itching, Well as your body heals from a fracture, the first thing it does is to swell and accumulate liquids around the area of the fracture, this is known as Oedema. Which sadly can be very painful, worst when its in a plaster or pop cast that s grainny and spiky. Then add that god aweful need to itchy the affected area.

Thus Aircast/AirSelect/Airwalker/Walking Boot was created.

Now, what does an Aircast/AirSelect/Airwalker/Walking Boot do?

A the name implies, it helps you get back to your feet fasted than a pop/plaster cast.

How does it do it?

By creating an air bubble around the whole foot.

In essence it creates an air pillow around your foot, which aside from making you feel like your putting your leg down on nothing but air. it also allows you to bear weight on the foot.

Which for someone who has being on a pop cast and crutches will know, you do not put weight on a POP cast. Thats why you see most POP cast users going around with Crutches.

While the Aircast/AirSelect/Airwalker/Walking Boot objective is to help start putting weight on your affected foot, so that you practical do not need the crutches once they come on.
