The rankings for 2016 is our first ever compilation and looks at the performances of the states during 2015. We used 34 different socioeconomic indicators which were then grouped into 7 major categories to arrive at our final assessment. The categories include Business Environment, Economy, Education, Financial Health, Healthcare, Living Standards and Wealth Generation and Distribution.

We sourced our data from a number of public sources including several government agencies and NGOs. By applying big data analytic techniques to the data, we can present deeper insights to make up for gaps which would have hindered us from getting a clearer picture of how well the states are performing in carrying out their duties to the people.
