Re: China Is Launching It's Own Version Of Wikipedia by vantage001: 4:02pm On May 19, 2017 |
khallyberry:lololololol So assembling basic body parts that is fabricated by machines is what make apple what it is? The most important part of your phone or laptop is the plastic casing? If Nigeria solves the problem of electricity and labour remains cheap, apple would bring their assembly plant to Nigeria and employ secondary school drop-outs to help them assemble it. That is how simple it is. |

vantage001: That guy simply does not understand. China is a great country, but there is nothing they are better than Britain or Russia or USA at. They have a great economy and they are doing well for themselves, but that's about it. All their technology is copied. As for apple, assembly in China is as a result on only one thing: cheap labour! Nothing else. The brain behind those powerful brands are Americans. This does not take away from the fact that China is great, but comparing them to the US in anything whatsoever, to the point of saying they are better, is pure madness. |

Nonsense. Suppression of truth is never part of civilization. This is why I love a good democratic country. They can allow information that is against to be in public domain. |

Re: China Is Launching It's Own Version Of Wikipedia by neocortex: 8:01pm On May 19, 2017 |
pressplay411: You are changing the subject, here was your original claim:
Don't try to mask your wrong assertion in "regular guys" mantra. If you aren't a regular guy yourself, you should be able to differentiate between security risk posed by hackers and a government spying and banning its citizens from accessing some websites. Yes, there are security risks involved with using the internet as it is expected of such complex systems, guess what the greatest risk to citizens freedom and privacy ? It is the same repressive governments you praised for banning their citizens from using certain websites. People who are truly concerned about their security will completely disconnect from the internet. |

neocortex: Apparently you love to argue for argument sake. Cos you just validated my assertion, same one you adjudged to be wrong. Guess your bone of contention with my post can be fractured to my seemingly aloof undertone, albeit unintentional. Of cos I'm guilty of SM frenzy, but to an extent at least on my own terms. My point having been clearly articulated can be reiterated further as China's ban is security measure to protect itself from cyber infiltration especially via SM. |

Re: China Is Launching It's Own Version Of Wikipedia by neocortex: 9:23pm On May 19, 2017 |
You make the wrong claim again, so I will assume you aren't versed in cyber security and its implications. China isn't banning the internet, it is more concerned with preventing citizens from visiting certain sites that contains ideas it deemed "dangerous" to the state. A state with one of the largest state-sponsored hackers in the world coupled with solid internet surveillance can't be said to be concerned about its citizens security or privacy. |

vantage001:smh have u heard of foxconn? incase u dont, google is ure friend. owned by tery gou foxconn manufactures every single component of the iphone, with over 2000 workers steve jobs (apple founder ) when asked why he choose china and foxconn he said united states can't match their work force.the only thing usa contributes to the iphone is designing of its software which is done in california. 1 Like |
Re: China Is Launching It's Own Version Of Wikipedia by vantage001: 12:57pm On May 20, 2017 |
khallyberry:The workforce here being cheap labour. The united states cannot match their cheap labour. Labour is very expensive in the united states. China has billions of people under communism, so they can afford to have very cheap labour sometimes even using child workers. If you try that in america, you will spend a long time in prison. And the most important thing about electronic devices are the softwares. That is where the 98% of the intellectual work is done. That is why it is called an american phone. Because the operating software which is what makes apple superior to other brands is an american technology. Your laptop or phone is what it is because of the software, not because of the plastic casing. |
Re: China Is Launching It's Own Version Of Wikipedia by khallyberry: 4:23pm On May 20, 2017 |
vantage001:and thesame company wants to replace its workers with robots.have you seen were those phone are been produced? and as to software been 98% of the workload,my brother if only u know how complicated and sophisticated electronic elements and circuit is u wouldn't have said that,if the hard-components of electronic gadgets is dat easy to manufacture, nigeria wouldnt be lagging behind in technology even an average computer scientist down here in nigeria can perform very well when it comes to software matters but nigerian engineers are not anywhere near average. meanwhile china still holds the record for the most sophisticated robot ever built and japan is next, samsung the only brand competing with the so-called iphone is a product of south korea, so u see my brother asia is d hub of technology with china as its capital.(buh am not saying usa is bad ) but china adds perfection to technology. 1 Like |
Re: China Is Launching It's Own Version Of Wikipedia by vantage001: 4:31pm On May 20, 2017 |
khallyberry:You need to get properly informed. Asia is not the hub of technology. China is the hub for cheap labour and industrial manufacturing, but it is definitely not the hub of technology. Name one chinese car, phone or laptop, or airplane that is world class and widely used.? Which would you choose between an infinix phone and an apple or an american dell laptop and whatever chinese brand is out there? So how can they be the hub of technology when their products is not the leading global standards.? Their only advantage is their enormously cheap labour and the fact that they have a decent degree of technical ability. The hub of technology is Europe and America. |

I see a lot of argument about which is better - America or China? Funny how we argue for or against nations that are light years ahead of our country. You guys should spend more time to think why the manufacturing sector in Nigeria is almost dead rather than wasting time bickering back and forth on what China's doing or isn't doing. |
