Obasanjo said his aim was to create 15 billonaires, i wonder how many IBB created,
tthey essentially created a new breed of middle class, and a new economy, e.g the GSM revolution, the banking sector etc

this govt however are intrested in improvishing people, making billionaires poorer and essentially crippling the Private bussinessnes

the govt should have focused on the economy first and not corruption. anyway what i have learnt is that a nation can survive its corrupt leaders, even survive wars but can never survive foolish leaders.
God will deliver us

The most important take from the Wedding, which you MISSED, is that When you loot your country sooo dry, that you deprive the children of millions of citizens, the right to free education, stable power supply, good hospitals (while you can jet to Germany for medical check-ups), e.t.c...... you can afford to do a lavish wedding for your last daughter getting married as a 3rd wife to another chief-looter, while serving various local drinks!

Ofcourse, those who benefitted from your reign of LOOT-OCRACY, will always be grateful and attend your functions.

You must be high. There is no way in hell that an economy can grow when corruption thrives. It will be like fetching water with a basket.
the worst form of denial is to lie to yourself, Wall Street is as corrupt as you can get.yet they account for most of the American economy, in Nigeria we equte being rich with being corrupt and this govt is like an aboki on steroids sending most rich people underground with their money.

Someone said if you weren't in Minna for IBB's daughter's wedding, you are just a tenant in Nigeria.
The landlords gathered to wine and dine.
Someone complained about the number of private jets flown into the city yesterday as the Abuja-Minna road isn't motorable. Another one argued it doesn't matter. It was a class thing and it is rare seeing a JSS1 boy play ludo with someone writing UTME.
Someone also wondered why suicide bombers ignored these enemies of Nigeria and decided to attack University of Maiduguri, a citadel of learning where dreams are being built and nurtured.
Someone somewhere close to the wedding venue said he strained his eyes looking for the leaking PDP umbrella and the tiny APC broom yesterday and had to go home disappointed when he saw all of them hugging and smiling without talking about their parties.
Someone faraway in Abeokuta decided to analyze their sitting positions and nearly ended up in the hospital. His blood pressure rose.
Another one, a popular PDP apologist in Enugu, broke down in tears yesterday. He saw 'Bola Tinubu, the man behind his hero's political and electoral fate who still lambasted him days ago in Lagos, seated beside Goodluck Jonathan smiling sheepishly to the cameras.
Someone, an unrepentant APC loyalist, saw Ali Modu Sheriff and Ahmed Markafi stand together. He had always prayed for the total collapse of PDP. He couldn't eat yesternight anyway.
Someone watched Channels Television news and saw Governor Ganduje and his sworn enemy Kwankwaso seated inches apart. He is still praying to God to wake him from his nightmare.
Another one made sure he followed the news on radio waiting for any divisive religious matter to be raised only to hear voices of Bukola Saraki, a muslim, and Yakubu Dogara, a christian, screaming for those expensive wines. He is still changing stations with hopes.
Someone checked online media outlets yesternight and saw pictures of Yorubas, Hausas, Fulanis, Igbos all under one roof with their different tribal wears. There was no tribal statement. No tribal war. He broke the screen of his phone.

You are so mixed-Up!

Wall Street (Bankers, Investors, Stock Brokers, e.t.c) IS NOT DIRECTLY LOOTING FROM THE STATE TREASURY, MONEY MEANT TO DEVELOP HOSPITAL, ELECTRICITY, POTABLE WATER, ROADS and other Public Service utilities.

Wall Street is a 'corrupt game' of risk-taking and profit making

Being Rich, is not the same thing as being corrupt ...............but looting Public funds to become 'rich', is certainly being corrupt

according to the Corruption index Nigeria ranks No 47 while Mauritania ranks 50 and Uganda number 46, estimate and Kenya ranks No 36.

http://www.ranker.com/list/the-most-corrupt-countries-in-the-world/info-lists

We are not the most corrupt country in the world, Smomailia but yet our own governet insults everyday.
Let APC put food on people's tables, give the young jobs, give us light, ensure that when we get old, we will have a pension and see if corruption doesnt reduce, but when you have people living in fear of getting old without a pension, house or being catered for,
have people hungry , having people beheaed, i tell u it is worse than coruption

depriving people of their right to life is worse than corrution, having people in the helm of affairs who doi not know their left from their right but holding destines of millions is worse than corruption.
A nation can survive corruption but not fololish leadership.

I said it

When a people decide to celebrate those who mortgaged their future and demonize those who are at least trying to create a future for them you really have to wonder at their sanity.

My bad, Obasanjo created 25 billionaires, but his aim essentially was 50 billionaires, that is how economies are made.

“My delight is to be able to create Nigerian billionaires. I always say it proudly that my aim when I was in government was to create 50 billionaires from Nigeria. Unfortunately I failed, because I created only 25,” he explained"

https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2016/10/30/obasanjo-as-president-i-created-twenty-five-nigerian-billionaires

You dont enter leadership with a chip on ur shoulder and envious of the "haves", your economy will crumble.

APC are failures becuase they have refused to learn and sustain institutons that their predecessors put in place, rather like a bunch of touts they came in hungry and rowdily destroyed a once thriving economy.
God will rectify this mess

nice one. I like the concept. I'm anti-soft drinks.

fresh juice is what I expect from weddings these days. Some weddings have Cocktails & mocktails, as a replacement for soft drinks, which is good.

getting someone who knows how to make good kunu and Zobo is difficult in these parts.

It isn't difficult. Go to the churches a lot of northerners attend and ask for those who make kunu/zobo for sale; ECWA, COCIN etc. Even in other churches some women bring zobo and sell after service. This was my experience in Lagos.
