Nigerian pop star, Wizkid (real name Ayo Balogun) who was nominated for a BET Award in the category of Best International Act: Africa has turned down the nomination. According to a Nigerian online journal, Wizkid who is currently based in the United States said he feels insulted. In an interview with FNN US, Wizkid said "Like how can they put me in the same category as typical Nigerians. Like I am an international artiste even though I am from Nigeria. I have also won this award before. These people need to get it right or else I am not interested in their award.” |
