Manchester Explosion Kills 22 People by atorioke(m): 8:10am On May 23, 2017
An explosion in Manchester Arena, the city’s largest indoor venue with a concert capacity of around 21,000, on Monday night has killed twenty-two people and injured fifty-nine.



Among those who died in the suspected terror attack at about 22:35 BST on Monday at the end of a pop concert by Ariana Grande, include children.



Manchester Police made it known that the male attacker who died in the blast, detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) in the arena.







“a barbaric attack, deliberately targeting some of the most vulnerable”, said Home Secretary Amber Rudd.



The attack occurred immeditaely after the US singer, Ariana Grande left the stage.



“broken. from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don’t have words”, Grande tweeted.







The prime minister will head a meeting of the government’s emergency Cobra committee at around 09:00 BST.


Families and friends have been in a search for loved ones using social media platforms and the Police has also set up an emergency telephone number in response to the attack.



Political parties have supended campaigns ahead of the general election.
