Chelsea were supposed to take on Hull City last Saturday in their first fixture without the African stars, but the game got postponed due to adverse weather conditions. The title contenders will now get an opportunity to prove their squad strength against the visiting Sunderland team this weekend.
Striker Nicolas Anelka has fully recovered from his hamstring injury and should lead the attack in partnership with Daniel Sturridge this Saturday. The return to fitness of Portuguese playmaker Deco is sure to boost the options that manager Carlo Ancelotti has up his sleeve.
With the absences of Michael Essien, Mikel Obi, Solomon Kalou, and Didier Drogba, there are questions on whether Carlo Ancelotti will stick with his usual diamond formation or switch to a 4-3-3.  .  .remains to be seen which it will be.
Bosingwa is the only player on Chelsea's injured list.

Despite the superb form of summer acquisition Darren Bent, with a tally of 13 goals so far, Sunderland would be hoping not to get dragged into the relegation battle as they are just five points above the 18th placed Bolton.
Sunderland will be without their young defender, Michael Turner, who serves the final installment of a four match ban he received for his alleged elbow to Gareth Barry during a 4 - 3 defeat at Eastlands. Nyron Nosworthy (knee) and Anton Ferdinand (ankle) are both very doubtful for the Chelsea game, so Paulo da Silva could be the only fit centre-back for Sunderland. In the midfield department, Steve Bruce might be without the services of Lee Cattermole and the impressive veteran Andy Reid as both are sidelined with a hamstring injury. But the return to fitness of striker Kenwyne Jones and midfielders Kieran Richardson and Bolo Zenden should come as a breath of fresh air to the manager.
