A wind farm with the world's biggest turbines has been switched on to supply power to 230,000 UK homes. Each of the farm's 32 turbines stands at a mighty 640ft (195m), which is higher than London's Gherkin tower. The colossal structures, each with blades that are 262ft (80m) in length, are located off the coast of Liverpool in northern England. WORLD'S BIGGEST WIND TURBINES *.
