Governor Emmanuel Commissions 19.5km Eket-ibeno Road ** Seeks Refunds From Fg by AniekemeFinbarr(m): 7:27pm On May 24, 2017
The Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has urged the federal government to refund all monies expended by the Akwa Ibom state government on the repairs and construction of federal roads in the state.

The governor made the appeal during the commissioning of the 19.5km Eket - Ibeno road, as part of activities to mark his 2nd year in office.

The governor noted that the road which leads to Qua Iboe terminal, remains the only road that leads to the operational base of the multinationals operating in the state, but had been abandoned for decades.

He stated with joy that during his campaign in 2015, he had promised the people of the area that if voted into office, he would urgently repair the road.

While announcing to the people of Eket - Ibeno that he was happy that the promise has been fulfilled, he maintained, unequivocally that the road project was initiated and completed by the state government and thanked the people of Eket federal constituency for their unalloyed support to his government.

Governor Emmanuel stressed that as a people oriented government, his administration had no excuses to give Akwa Ibom people, which accounts for the prompt payment of salaries and sundry entitlements to civil servants and the promotion of policies and projects that will make the state an economic giant within the Gulf of Guinea.

In his opening remarks, the Commissioner for Works, Mr Ephraim Inyang, thanked the governor for delivering on his campaign promises to the people of the area by constructing the strategic road.

Hon Usoro Akpanuso, Chairman House Committee on Appropriation and Member representing Esit Eket / Ibeno in the state House of Assembly, in his goodwill message, was full of praises for the governor for keeping to his promises and pledged the unalloyed support of the people of Eket federal constituency and state House of Assembly towards ensuring that he succeeds in his onerous task of turning around the fortunes of Akwa Ibom people for the better.

The Chairman Transition committee, Eket LGA, Frank Archibong on his part told the governor that his second term in office was assured, following his positive exploits during his first two years in office as executive governor of the state.

He noted with satisfaction, the giant strides that the governor has recorded in just two years in office and promised to mobilize all the way for the governor even beyond 2023.

Present at the event were top government functionaries, leaders of thoughts, youth and women groups and a cross section of Eket federal constituency who all sang and chanted in support of the governor.

Udom is working mbok...at least with the little allocation the state is now getting, i remember going for my jamb exam using that road some years ago, ma bro took one look at that road and swore he wasn't gonna risk his new whip on that road, that place was literally messed up. The most annoying part was that the road leads to the Mobil Terminal. It used to take like an hour to get to the beach by taxi but now, if you are speed crazy 10 minutes at the utmost. Well done Udom Emmanuel.

bullshit!, Udom is the worst thing that can happen to any state or even local government. "Udom commissions this and that", yet the pictures are more of him than even the so called projects. The man is a fraud and needs to leave the stage for a more competent person. In Uyo today, none of the street lights are working, the streets are dirty and disorganised yet the fool is going about posting his ugly pictures everywhere defacing the very state he governs, everything is propaganda.2 years gone and Udom is yet to show us ONE tangible project he has done from begging to the end, even the ones he inherited and shoddily completed. Very big shame.Abeg Make una park one side joor!!!
