The local government primary election of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) ended in a fracas after aggrieved party supporters threw caution to the wind and attacked the chairman of the elections committee, Mr Tokunbo Afikunyomi.

The elections held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos on Saturday. Party delegates took to their heels after angry supporters destroyed ballot boxes and exchanged blows. Trouble started when Afikunyomi openly read out the names of candidates selected by consensus. The selections did not go down well with party members from Lagos mainland and Surulere as they wasted no time in voicing out their displeasure.

They protested that the party leadership was forcing candidates on them and the decision by the leadership to select consensus candidates in 18 councils was unacceptable. The protests quickly turned into full blown chaos between the consensus candidates and the protesters.

According to a party member, Mr Tokunbo Wale, the straw that broke the camel's back was the substitution of Mr Ajide Tajudeen, a candidate for the Surulere LG chairmanship for another candidate.

Wale disclosed that there were aspirants contesting for the post in the area and that nobody knew of the consensus candidate until they got to the venue.

Tinubu problem with other SW APC leaders like Fashola and Fayemi is because he never allow democracy to take place in SW APC.

Even Fashola in this picture refuses to laugh from the heart
