The vice chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Professor Abdalla Uba Adamu, has charged students of the university to be good ambassadors of the premier Open and Distance Learning (ODL) institution in West Africa.

Adamu gave this charge in his address at the 16th Matriculation Ceremony of the university, which held simultaneously at the 77 study centres of the institution across Nigeria, this Saturday.

Addressing the freshmen at the ceremony, Professor Adamu said, “As students of NOUN, you have become partakers in this vision, as the vision begins with you. You have become the torchbearers of the National Open University of Nigeria, the standard by which NOUN will be judged by others. In other words, you have become Ambassadors of NOUN. You will be doing yourself and the university a lot of good if you remember this always and act in such a way that will edify your university.”

Adamu, who opined that his university, as a strong player in tertiary education delivery globally, has provided a formidable platform through which its students can translate their dreams into reality, urged the matriculating students to take advantage of the facilities put in place by management of the institution to drive home their intellectual dreams and aspirations.
