Iheanacho’s Exit: Man city to insert buy-back clause in his contract, learns from Chelsea’s mistake on Lukaku

Pep Guardiola does not want Iheanacho’s case to be like that of Chelsea who sold promising Romelu Lukaku years ago to Everton without a buy-back clause at a set price and now want to buy him back at a far higher fee.

To guard against this, it is believed Guardiola wants to insert a buy-back clause in the contract that will sell one the most promising young talents in the EPL in the coming transfer market who is valued at £20million

Iheanacho’s chances of playing reduced drastically since the coming of Guardiola at the Etihad stadium. In spite of this, the young player only started 5 games this season and still managed to score 7 goals and 3 assists with those goals coming at average rate of one every 128 minutes.

With a good goal scoring record, clubs in the EPL have been on the hot chase of the player with the prospects of luring him with first team chances given his limited opportunities at City.

West Ham, Everton and Leicester are all said to be very interested in Iheanacho but out of the lot, only West Ham seemed to have made strong efforts in signing the player so far.

It is said that West Ham wants any buy-back fee for the player to be double of the £20million the Nigerian young player is rated.
