The Pharaohs of Egypt have set a record of unbeaten matches at the Africa Cup of Nations. The Pharaohs are unbeaten in 13 matches at the biennial champions since 2006.

The six-time champions previously shared the unbeaten streak record at the Africa Cup of Nations with Cameroon, who had not lost in 12 matches stretching from February 2000 to February 2004. During that period, the Indomitable Lions won eight matches and drew four times. They beat Algeria, Tunisia, DR Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Togo, Egypt, Mali and Zimbabwe.

Also, included were their successive finals defeat of Nigeria and Senegal in 2000 and 2002 respectively with a goal tally of 23 goals and letting in seven.

For Egypt, their feat was initiated on January 20, 2006 with a 3-0 victory against Libya in Cairo. Hassan Shehata’s team then beat Cote d'Ivoire, DR Congo, Senegal, Cameroon, Sudan, Angola, Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon and Nigeria. In total, the Egyptians have been victors on 10 occasions with three draws including the victory over in 2006 over Cote d’Ivoire in the final. Overall, they scored 29 goals and conceded nine.
