Many issues were discussed, only the ones relating to the Npower programme are outlined below

We Have Approved July Stipend:

The Minister made mention of approving the already delayed July Stipends for disengaged volunteers, according to her, before the month of August will span through, July stipends would have been paid, meaning next week, all stipends will be paid to authentic volunteers

No Permanency:

There is no permanency, that whci volunteers are seeking, is totally impossible for the government at this critical time we find our selves, the government has did it best, it paid volunteers for 40 months, what else could they asked for?

Many of them now own businesses that can cater for them, we want more Nigerians to benefit form this empowerment programme

Exit Package Awaits Volunteers:

All exited Volunteers will be given exit package, their names are with the Accountant General of the Federation, when funds are approved , we will tell volunteers how to access it

N-POWER: Finally, The Mega Protest Against FG Is Here, As Volunteers Give 20 Reasons Why Buhari Should Act Now

N-POWER: Finally, The Mega Protest Against FG Is Here, As Volunteers Give 20 Reasons Why Buhari Should Act Now

“When the educated youths of a nation were rejected and denied of being actively involved in making use of their brain and energy, the future of such nation is resting on the keg of gunpowder”
The above assertion was one of the reasons given by the leadership of NPower Volunteers for announcing a date for NPower Mega Protest in Abuja against NPower leadership and President Muhammadu Buhari’s Government.
According to the report, the transitioned NPower Beneficiaries of 2019 batch A and B have scheduled Wednesday 26th August 2020 for mega protest against their unfair disengagement from the scheme.
According to a statement jointly signed by Joseph Maigari and five others on behalf of the National Coordinator, Comrade Pele, NPower protesters are expected to be on the ground on or before 9:45 am at the meeting point in front of Federal Secretariat Abuja before matching to the Asorock Villa where they are envisaged to meet President Muhammadu Buhari.
The statement also added that the ongoing payment for the month of June is for media show and a distraction to Npower volunteers who are about to be disengaged as almost 70% of the beneficiaries are yet to receive the payment.

Read the full 20 reasons behind the proposed mega protest below:

“Hello every one, here is all you need to know about the upcoming Mega protest in FCT, Abuja.

“CEASELESS PROTEST starting from Wednesday 26th of August, 2020. TIME: 10am, VENUE: The meeting point is FRONT OF FEDERAL SECRETARIAT before going to ASO VILLA.

“Here are some INSCRIPTIONS OF WRITE-UPS you can write on your CARDBOARD PAPERS, HAND BILLS or POSTERS For NPower Mega Protest

✔ All we want is absorption or good exit package (1Million Naira grant)

✔ Your Permanency is tied to your PVC by Afolabi during 2019 presidential polls.

✔ You are not going back to the street by Prof. Osinbajo by Sadiya Umar came on board

✔ Where is the device you promised us?

✔ Where is the enhancement scheme you promised us?

✔ We are patriotic citizens and so we deserve the best

✔ We are trained and ready to serve our father’s land

✔ We have done our part…pls fulfil your promise

✔ Nigerian youths deserve the best

✔ We have family members who depend on us

✔ The classes will be empty without us

✔ We are the future leaders

✔ Health care providers need our services

✔ Some volunteers have not been paid for five (5) months

✔ We are young, strong and competent….we are not lazy

1✔ We are off age (35)

✔ We are Nigeria’s future

✔ Is this the right time for disengagement amidst COVID-19?

✔ Npowerites weep

✔ Youth cries out for help!”.

You could recalled that OSUNREPORTERS NEWS had earlier reported the news of disengagement when the Minister in charge of the programme, Saidya Umar Farouq on 30th June 2020 announced the exit of the batch A from the program and that of batch B which have ignited the beneficiaries to express their dissatisfaction demanding for permanent jobs or better exit packages.

It is high time we begin to reject the phrase that our politicians have been using to cajole us "Youths are the leaders of tomorrow".
The truth is, if we go by that phrase, the tomorrow youth will never surface. So, therefore, ”YOUTHS ARE THE LEADERS OF TODAY"
We can not continue to fold our arms and watch these mindless leaders of ours milk the future which belongs to the youth. We have the right to air out our mind concerning the dissatisfaction experienced in the Government of the day.
So, we call on all youth across the federation to join us at freedom park where we will be occupying Nigeria from August 26th - 28, 2020

This Npower beneficiaries are group into two batches. Batch A contain 200, 000 beneficiaries while batch B contain 300, 000 making it 500,000 beneficiaries both batch A and Batch B.

The beneficiaries earns 30,000naira each as stipends Evey month ,the batch A received a device each which Batch B couldn't receive theirs up till now .

The beneficiaries are grouped into many categories Ntech , Nagro and Nhealth within this short period they have stayed , their efforts are seen all around both in our schools both primary and secondary schools , Health centers and Farm settlement , there are also those in N built and others .

All these beneficiaries have their importance in all the sectors they were posted and have get used and fond of the places .

The fear of Npower beneficiaries includes .

 1. The level of unemployment in the country is so high and to start searching for job won't be an easy task for every one them .

2. Most of the beneficiaries have stayed in the programme for 3 years and age is no longer by their side .

3 . most of the Npower beneficiaries are taking care of their family as their family Depends on the monthly stipends for survivals

4. Once the federal government disengage the beneficiaries the schools will be empty as almost all the schools are lacking teachers without the Nteach beneficiaries

5. The beneficiaries are the now more ready for they job due to they have earn enough experience

6. Expecting the beneficiaries to start up something from the experience from Npower programme means expecting each of them to start up their own schools and hospital which is not possible.

7.Almost all the Beneficiaries were unable to save due to the stipends were so small and the feeding from it and transporting themselves to their working place with it too.

8.Also the unstable payment also make it impossible for them to save a little from the small stipend .

9. Disengaging them will cause a lot of damages in the country and their lives .

Please the general public let's speak for npower . let's not allow them go back to the street , they are citizens of this country and deserve better treatment from the government

July Stipends For Both N-Power Batches: GIFMIS To Trigger Alerts Shortly

N-Power Batch A and B will start receiving July Stipends in no distant time. The Federal Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development via the office of the Accountant General of the Federation has approved July stipend.

While speaking with NTA News Channel (One on One), the minister confirmed July Stipends to be paid before the month of August spans through.
GIFMIS is ready and has started the process of ” rimming data into banks”, a very slow but effective platform for huge credit transactions like the N-Power programme.
GIFMIS platform takes a week, seven (7) days to process payment, that is, if order is given now, it will take one full week before N-Power volunteers get credited.

*ABUJA NPOWER PROTESTS*

They sit down in their comfort zone and make noise.

Under normal circumstances, protests and demonstrations suppose to be rocking the states. But they're there expecting others to go and fight for them.

Buhari knew them well when he called them *LAZY NIGERIAN YOUTH*

*Freedom has never come on a platter. Throughout history, freedom has always come by struggle, either peaceful or violent*

Please don't stay in your comfort zone and comment on social media.

Come out and protest *your right to gainful employment, they give their own children NNPC, NLNG, CBN etc. now they give you Npower and they want to take it*

*Nigerian jobs are for NIGERIANS, not for FAMILY MEMBERS OF POLITICIANS*

*500,000 youth is definitely the change Nigerians await since Independence*

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

ABSORPTION OR REASONABLE EXIT PACKAGE AS GRANT EACH!!

If I Do Not Get N-Power Job, My Husband Will Leave Me: An N-Power Batch C Applicant Cries Out

An N-Power applicant has expressed fears of losing her marriage, should she fail to get the Nigerian Empowerment Programme called N-Power.
Joy Unewuojo Sani told her colleagues, her marriage is at stake if sha failed to get a Job to support her husband.
Blessed with two Kids, Mrs Joy has suffered a lot of financial challenges and embarrassment, her husband, has been the bread winner of the family, providing all what is needed for the family to “stand” according to Mrs Joy.
She threatened never to forgive the Federal Government should she fail to secure a place in the 12 months contract N-Power Scheme.
The N-Power registration for batch C recently came to an end few weeks ago, more than 5.1 Million Nigerians applied for position.
A rigid procedure and process will be used to select the needed 400,000 N-Power Batch C Volunteers, which will leave more than 85% of the 5.1 million applicants screened out.
It can be best explained that, many applicants will get “a shocking surprise” of their lives when the final list come out. As the process may not be as transparent as the two previous N&Power batches (A and B)
For Joy Unewuojo Sani, it can only get better when hopes abound and her marriage remains.
For now, she has been advised not to put her hope in the “Political Scheme”, to avoid heart breaks.

This is one of the effects of being unemployed in a typical home in Nigeria.

Permanency: Over 3,500 N-Power Volunteers Ready for “SIT-IN ABUJA” Peaceful Demonstration

No fewer than 3,500 disengaged N-Power volunteers from the 36 states and the FCT have taken Abuja city by surprise for a SIT-IN IN ABUJA peaceful demonstration. A demonstration that will stand the test of time.
The peaceful demonstration is scheduled to take place today 26th of August 2020 at the national Secretariat Abuja.
N-Power volunteers have already sort police permission and injunction to press on with their demand.
N-Power volunteers of the N-Power Scheme were recently disengaged by the government, a move not palatable for a country like Nigeria, with more than 60 million jobless youths.
Disengaged N-Power volunteers will be contesting and questioning the disengagement plan carried out by the Umar Sadiya Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.
This is not the first demonstration, two massive demonstrations, were already carried out, but the government claimed they have no funds to permanent N-Power volunteers, citing poor economy and the global pandemic as reasons.
The “SIT-IN IN ABUJA” demonstration will be a long and precise one, not until the president addresses the situation himself, disengaged N-Power volunteers will not step an inch out of the Federal Capital territory.
N-Power volunteers for the demonstration took along blankets, stoves, cooking Utensils, Buckets, and Media outlets.
