28% Fail Law School Resit Exams by Nobody: 8:13pm On Jun 10, 2017

The Council of Legal Education has released the result of the Bar Final Resit Examinations conducted in April 2017. A summary of the results signed by the Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, Mr. Olanrewaju Onadeko (SAN), indicated that 28 per cent of the students failed the examinations. Onadeko said 65.6 per cent of the students passed and 6.4 per cent had a conditional pass. He said Call to Bar ceremony would be held for the successful candidates on July 13, 2017, in Abuja. The summary of the results released to journalists on Saturday stated that a total of 2,125 participated in the examinations. It stated that while 1,393 students (65.6 per cent) passed the resit examinations, 596, which is about 28 per cent of the students failed. It stated that 136, which about 6.4 per cent of the students were with a conditional pass. It read in part,
“Total number of students who participated in the examinations: 2,125.
“Total number of successful candidates: 1,393.
“Total number of candidates with conditional pass: 136.
“Total number of candidates who failed: 596. The above translates in percentages as follows:
“Pass 65.6%.
Conditional Pass 6.4%.
“Fail 28%.
“The Call to the Bar ceremonies for the successful candidates will hold on July 13, 2017, in Abuja. Further details will be given in due course please.”
