I appreciate your grasp of the Holy Bible and its interpretations but the problem
is your understanding of the Holy Koran. A full grasp of what jihad may not be appreciated
in the light of the prism behind which you are looking at it and it is understandable. This is
the type of mindset that informs such attitude to anything Islam. You are entitled to your
opinion. This and doses of needless arrogance. That is what democracy is all about.

That is wrongly quoted why do u like telling lies and causing confusion to others? The correct quote is; There is no god worthy of worship except ALLAH and Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is the last Prophet of ALLAH.

Alas!!! a hater out of the closet in his true colours.
At least he is being honest about it, now we all know his stand.

Wily+Wily:

Rubbish from a Gworo man

Oh, isn't that very clever; go on insult and provoke, after all it comes naturally to you.
What's the matter, can't handle the truth or the fact that an aboki (as you call us) could even proffer a valid balanced argument for which you have no reply?
By the way, don't make a habit of it; otherwise one day you might forget yourself and make the mistake of repeating that insult in the midst of my name sakes - and we all know what could possibly happen to you, don't we? Of course, should that happen, your people as usual, would never see you as the instigator.

Wily+Wily:

No one is Worthy to be Worship but Allah, i bear witness Mohammed is the only prophet .
Congratulations, by that pronouncement (though wrongly quoted, but the intention is evident) you have just converted to Islam and  henceforth punishable under sharia law, so welcome aboard.
Therefore, as a fellow Muslim I hereby beseech you to accordingly watch that your mouth from now onwards and stop being a silly Billy, willy+willy grin

Nassawara State nko?
It was very insulting that the Sultan of Sokoto said that Plateau should get rid of State of Origin.
I have been saying that the ENTIRE Nigeria should get rid of State of Origin/Indigen for sometime now. We call ourselves a democracy based on unity.

Yet we easily like to differentiate ourselves either it be rotational representation or State of Origin.
These types of government policies which are politically rooted create an ethnic divide amongst the people which deters us from peace, unity and equality.

Honestly, after perusing through member's comments I felt scared and truly Nigerian entity as a nation is seriously threatened,it is indeed threatened not by the O P C/IGBO Traders clashes in lagos or the senseless massacres in the name of religion in the North,Tiv/Jikun,etc but by elites like us that have access to advanced technology which as Nigerians we only enjoy, its time brother's we start thinking of moving forward, how we get there depend on you and I,weather you have a religion or Not.

THE TRUE POSITION OF INDIGENESHIP IN JOS TOWNSHIP:

Enough is enough!

Plateau State indigenes need to speak out about the lies being spread on BBC, VOA, Gamji.com and other media outlets, allowing a biased reporting on our beloved State. The truth about our hospitality needs to be told. The truth about those who do not welcome settlers in their States need to be told (we know it is not Plateau State). The truth about who will not allow you to hold a position be it government or traditional in their State unless you belong to a particular tribe or religion needs to be told(we know it is not Plateau State).

The word “JOS” is derived by the expression by the first Missionaries who arrived JOS and declared “Jesus Our Saviour”. The Missionaries who arrived Jos found the Anagutas, the Jarrawas and the Beroms in various sections of the valley that now comprise Jos Town. The Beroms were in Kabong (Gada Biyu), the Anagutas occupied the present University of Jos site, and the Jarawas occupied the current Nassarawa Gwom. This was prior to the discovery of tin and Columbite.

When the Missionaries settled and Lord Lugard had amalgamated the current Nigeria, there were influx of Tin miners and mining labor. The Hausas, the Igbos and the Yorubas came. Trading started and Jos developed into a tin mining town, with mining camps established all over the Plateau. This town was then made up of the 3 indigenous groups, Berom, Jarrawa and Anagutas, the Ngas laborers from the north East of plateau, the Miyangos, the Yorubas , the Igbos, the Hausas, the Mwagvul, the Ron/ Challas, the Kuleres, the Musheres, the Goemais, the Aragos, the Madas, the Egons etc.

Alhaji Dasuki , was a teacher in Kuru Middle school and later a District Officer and Provincial Secretary in Plateau Province in the then Northern Region as created by Law. In 1950 when the Northern Region was created and indigenous traditional rulers were to be uplifted, the Hausas traders in Jos, encouraged by people like Dasuki , created a Sarkin Hausawa Position and later called this “Sarkin Jos” on their own without any legal backing. The Natives protested this.

When Sardauna became the Premier of Northern Nigeria and the Chiefdoms of Jos, Ngas, Mwagvul, Goemai were created by the Colonial Administration then in Northern Nigeria, the natives were requested to produce paramount rulers to represent them in the Northern House of Chiefs. The Colonial administration requested for a method of selecting Chief of Jos. Dasuki was known to have recommended that the Sarkin Hausawa of Jos be selected as Chief of Jos. It was Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna, who consulted the political Leaders in Plateau Province notably, Moses Rwang, Patrick Dokatri, Pastor Vrankat Lot and others and the recommendation that came up from these consultations was that the indigenous jos people only, be the right people to select the Chief of Jos. Sardauna was noted to have told Dasuki and his cohorts that if they wanted Sarki positions they should go to Zaria, Kano or Daura to contest for the positions. Sardauna agreed that none of the followings tribes should have the right to contest the Sarkin Jos Stool and these are the Hausa, Igbos. Yorubas, the Ngas, the Goemais, the Mwagvul, the Rons, the Kuleres, the Tivs, etc. Sardauna accepted this recommendation and this was legalized. That is the law. Beroms being the largest group now dominate the Chief of Jos selection committee and hence the Gbom Gwom Jos was approved to be used by all the indigenous people of Jos.

The Hausas are not the indigenous people of Jos. They came, the Ngas came, the Goemais came, the Mwagvul came, the rest of the settlers came, they cannot lay claim to Jos Chieftaincy. The Hausa came to Bauchi and settled. The Hausa cannot lay claim to Bauchi Emirship. The Emir of Bauchi is selected from Gere tribe. No Hausa man has ever been Emir of Bauchi.

The current law of indigenization is the law of Nigeria and not the law of Plateau State. The Hausa States uphold the same law and will not change it to favor others from the other states of Nigeria. The Hausas are not indigenes of Jos, the Ngas are not , the Yorubas are not , the Igbos are not and many others are not . All these people, with the exception of the Hausas, live in Jos peacefully. Does the Hausa tribe have an upper hand over other tribes in Nigeria? The answer is NO! NO!! NO!!!.

We want peace in Plateau State and the truth should be known by all and sundry

Another "JUSTIFICATION" FOR GRUESOME MURDER!!!

Even with all the history lessons, you still fail to realise that the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria does not recognise any group of persons by the name of settlers or indigents but rather citizens as no law exists in the country that creates a divide between the so called indigenes and settlers such as to deny the so called settlers from residing in any part of the country, owning business establishments anywhere and contesting for elective positions within their host community. In fact, the current Governor of Kano State is not even a Hausa man. Go dig up the history of Lagos and inform the house of the identity of the indigent Lagosians in contrast to those of the ruling class. All that you have stated here is abject vanity and a mis-representation of the law which has continued to consume the natives of the Plateau and encouraged them to ensue hatred towards the so called settlers as you choose to call them. If you are supposed to be of the enlightened cadre, I wonder how the ignorant ones do reason.

@yusufi nice to see again. I do hope you're from kano state to you can enlighten us about the "maguzawa"(hope spelling is correct) peopleod kano and why them exiled their children to parts of nassarawa, southern kaduna and jos about 6 years ago.

@ Yusufi, no one is in support of the killings in Jos town but get this message that other tribes such as Igbos, Yorubas etc also came to reside in Jos like the Hausas but why cant they live in harmony and go about getting thier daily bread like the igbos and yorubas and the tivs etc that came to settle in Jos?

even in the Lagos history, still recognises the original indigenes of Eko and thats where they get the Oba of Lagos from.

In case you are not familiar with the terrain of Jos, the only reason why the natives are at loggerheads with the Hausa/Fulani and not any other ethnicity is simply because they consider the Hausa/Fulani to be threats to their economic independence by virtue of their large number and financial/economic dominance of the metropolitan city of Jos, the capital of Plateau. It is a simply a fight to regain economic control of the capital in a bid to cripple the insurgence of any political ambition of the settlers. Find out the ethnic identity of the trade merchants within Jos metropolis before you begin to make disputing remarks. What is the identity of majority of the principal dealers to multinationals like PZ, Unilever, Nestle, NBC etc? That should give you a clue.

even in the Lagos history, still recognises the original indigenes of Eko and thats where they get the Oba of Lagos from.

The oba of Lagos, just as any traditional chief, has got no constitution relevance. By the term ruling class, I am referring to the constitutionally recognised authority. Try again.

What is your source please? I have been living in Nigeria for 3 decades now and have not been opportuned to come across that story which ought to have made headlines. Kindly shed more light.
Re: Genocide Reported In Kuru Village Of Jos by binatrix(m): 1:39pm On Feb 11, 2010
@ Yusufi, why dont you want to accept that killing by anyone is wrong even in the name of tribe or religion? why is it that the 2008 crisis was targeted against churches and christian homes (not only plateau indigenes)? why in 2008 crisis was INEC offce not attacked? why do you believe the propaganda of the media that only the hausa people are being killed? WHY??

the truth must be told and whether you accept it or not, the TRUTH can never be hidden. the good thing is that so far, Nigeria is still a country uphelp by a constitution not by any religious book so there is hope for change, peace and progress.

on the TRUTH i stand and am not taking sides on this matter. if its my brother that is guilty, let him then face the law of the land.

the TRUTH MUST BE TOLD and we all have no choice but to listen. Let God ARISE and let HIS Enemies be scattered.

on your view of the present governor of kano not being hausa or should i say not from kano state is possible because of the concept of "Almagiri", where kids are taken to another location to study under the supervision of scholar. some of these kids never make it back to thier state of origin so when they come of age, they claim the present location they are. i always ask myself, why is the concept only practiced in the North?

do you know that some days back, there was still fight in congo-russia area in jos?
