Obasanjo, get Yar’Adua’s resignation letter, says Bafarawa

ANGRY reactions have trailed former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s suggestion that ailing President Umaru Yar’Adua should follow the path of honour by resigning, if his health will not allow him to perform the duties of his office.

On his part, former Sokoto State governor, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa said what Obasanjo ought to do was to proceed to Saudi Arabia and bring Yar’Adua’s resignation letter; while former Osun State governor, Chief Bisi Akande accused the former president of misleading Nigerians.

On his part, Bafarawa said “What I expected from Obasanjo is not to tell Nigerians that Yar’Adua should resign, rather, he should go to Saudi Arabia and meet Yar’Adua, get his resignation letter and bring back to Nigeria because nobody knew Yar’Adua, Nobody knew whether he was well or not, it was only God who knew the reason behind Obasanjo bringing Yar’Adua. So, for him to tell Yar’Adua to resign at a media forum, it is not enough. He should go to Saudi Arabia, get the resignation and bring back to Nigeria if he won’t take his hands off.”

He led Nigeria into shame — Bisi Akande

Akande, who is also the National chairman of the Action Congress, AC, faulted Obasanjo’s position of “trying to justify a very bad case.”
According to him, “this same Obasanjo is already regretting that he had misled Nigeria into shame. What he’s saying about Yar’Adua now is merely finding desecration to his bad character.”

It’s between OBJ and God — Ayo Adebanjo

Also, Afenifere chieftain, Chief Ayo Adebanjo noted that “if it is not an after thought, then, it is between himself and his God. Now that he swore that God should punish him for it, well, so be it. There is nothing anybody can do. All we are saying is that he (Obasanjo) knew that he (Yar’Adua) was not that healthy and he now explained that he has certificate of clearance.”

Yar’Adua should be impeached — Fasheun

In his stance, founder of the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, Dr Fredrick Fasheun berated the former president for coming out late to advise his successor to relinquish power.
Fasheun, while lampooning the National Assembly for failing to rise up to the occasion, however, called on the ailing president to hand over power to the Vice-President without further delay.

He said “I think that General Olusegun Obasanjo (rtd) coming out now to persuade Nigerians. I think he has a right to advise his successor. But he could have gone further to advise because his successor has violated the constitution for 60 days.”

“The National Assembly has been looking the other way round. Now, the president swore to uphold the constitution, but he’s now violating the constitution. And so, the president has violated the constitution and the thing to be done is that he should be impeached.
This is where the National Assembly is burying its head in the sand thinking that nothing is happening.
Of course, there is a lot happening in Nigeria. Nigeria has been leaderless, has been rudderless, without direction and everybody has doing what he or she likes,” he stated.

Beside, he argued that “the constitution that brings us together is being floated. What do you think will happen?
The togetherness, which is the future of our constitution is dwindling and if the National Assembly, does not take a concrete stand to correct the situation, they may be supporting the disintegration of Nigeria”.

Indeed, it is now Obansanjo and GOD. For telling lies at his age.

The anti-Igbo elements will not see this as chronic disunity in the Yoruba leadership but if any money-miss road Igbo political contractor speak a word against Ekwueme or another Igbo politicians, they will be all over nairaland spewing thrash.

to me, this topic has nothing to discuss or argue abt as it is simply the mind of every normal nigerian.
obj is the only one who knows everything abt yar adua and he considers this man the only living being capable of ruling nigerians so if he thinks otherwise now, he does not and shld not seek our consent as usual, all he needs is to go down to saudi arabia and get a resignation letter and then get us another saviour since the first has failed.
i said it from the day one on this nairaland, snakes can only give birth to snakes unless it is otherwise in yorubaland or hausa but for the igbos, that is always the case.
obj, bode george, tony annenih, late adedibu and a host of other white hair criminals will definitely face God for the public destruction of nigeria and mass murders in this country of ours.
for the livesof innocent nigerians lost in all their wickedness, God will surely pay them back with death even after death.
for their wickedness, nigerian youths have turned to slaves in countries less previlledged than nigeria.
