Answer is 1. Meanwhile, this is Arithmetic, not math, u don't need to be a great mathematician. |

LionDeLeo:Try using Google or even Microsoft Excel to solve it & see what you get! It's causing a lot of debate online mehn! |
Re: Where Are The Greatest Mathematicians? by LionDeLeo: 5:34am On Jun 22, 2017 |
famosh: No need. Answer is 1, is a simple Arithmetic. |

LionDeLeo:So Google is wrong, right? It isn't as straight forward as you think! By the way, check this out http://www.google.com.ng/search?q=6%C3%B72%282%2B1%29&btnG= |

famosh: Very wrong, as far as simple law of Arithmetic is concerned. |

The calculator of course, use BODMAS u get the same thing. |

horlahwaley:How about you do it this way 6/2(2+1) =6/2(3) which could also be written as 6/2*3 =3*3 =9 ? |

famosh:which weed are u smoking won't you open the bracket first before doing the division. |
Re: Where Are The Greatest Mathematicians? by denniece1(m): 10:54am On Jun 22, 2017 |
The answer is 9 6/2(3) is same as 6/2*3 and it is solved from the left since / & * has equal priority. The answer is 1 only if it was 6/(2(1+2)) 1 Like |

If we follow the BODMAS rule, both of them are wrong ironically. Providing Do My Essay For Me services for years i think this is an arithmetic problem. |
Re: Where Are The Greatest Mathematicians? by Aminu212: 11:17am On Jun 22, 2017 |
seunlly:I think you should learn bodmas. 6/2(3) is the same as 6/2*3 |
Re: Where Are The Greatest Mathematicians? by Nobody: 11:18am On Jun 22, 2017 |
If we follow bodmas, 9 is incorrect 6/2(2+1) order.... Open Brackets 6/4+2 At this point the question is unclear. if it were 6/(2(2+1)) now, it's easily 6/(4+2) 6/6 = 1.... or it's 6/4 + 2 = 3.5... My two kobo |
Re: Where Are The Greatest Mathematicians? by Nobody: 11:31am On Jun 22, 2017 |
Going by bodmas, 1 should be the answer. 6/2(2+1) Bracket 1st = (2+1)=3 Then of = 2*3= 6 Lastly division = 6/6 = 1. Moreover, the calculator is right because it's a scientific type (Casio). Mobile phone default calculator calculates values in the order you input them 1 Like |

StarBukola:Present ma. 6÷2(2+1). The parenthesis (bracket) simply shows that the number before the bracket has a greater relationship with the entities in bracket first before the standing 6. Hence, 6÷ 2(2+1) = 6 ÷ 2(3) = 6÷ 6 = 1. Parenthesis are usually used to show clear distinctions. If the question was (6÷2)(2+1), then the answer will be 3 but in this case, the answer is clearly 1. |

We can neither equate super mathematician in terms of goal greatness nor it's far proper to achieve this. We can ask questions like who is the finest tennis or football player and so forth and such question make ideal logical experience because we have facts to examine one player against another across the same parameters. But a question like who is the finest mathematician is as subjective as who is the maximum beautiful lady due to the fact we can't make quantify the comparison objectively. Do My Essays |

famosh:LOL. I have noticed this severally that this particularly model of casio calculator does not follow BODMAS syntax. I had to change my calculator when i observed this as it was giving me wrong answers. Quite funny... |

famosh: this is correct as even BODMAS the O there simply means order and not of so technically division comes 1st b4 the multiplication |
