My 4 year old son asked me just now as I was taking them to swimming lessons the following questions

My son: Dad

Me: yes,

I have some questions for you.

1. What is the difference between the World and the Universe....I managed to answer, explaining the cosmos, the firmaments and the galaxies. He didn't seem satisfied and threw question two.

list the continents in the world? First, i was confused if it's 6 or 7 continents we have. I was not sure. I also was careful because it maybe they discussed it in school or he read it on the world map I placed in their room.

I managed to list 6 while He wrote them down at the back seat. He said its remaining one. I remembered and completed the 7.

Then came the last question why i seek help.

Who gave the continents their names and that he just noticed that they all start and end with same alphabet.

E.g Africa, Asia, Europe

I stylishly pretended to be distracted by the cry of his younger sister but that question will resurface again. If not after swimming today it will be tommorow.

He never forgets totally.

So who named the continents and why do they start and end with same letter.

North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia.

Setting aside the obvious lie (e.g, saying you explained the differences between cosmos, firmament and galaxies to a 4 year old), I'll simply advise you to let him know what coincidences are and how they are a part of life, and to teach him more of verbal and quantitative reasoning.

I laugh when I read comments of people who don't believe the strange questions from a 4 year old.

My kids do wonders with my Ipad. They ask questions that make you wonder. Sometimes I wonder if I gave birth to them. I am not half intelligent when I was double their age.

Thanks, I wasn't teaching him anything. We were going for swimming lessons . He asks questions spontaneously.

I hadly have time for academic lessons with him. Although that has been taken care of by their mum.

I don't have kids but i relate with kids very well. Anyway, if you say that he really asked these questions, then he'll turn out to be very brilliant
