Watch out, the Yorubas will cowardly tell Osibanjo to resign, and they will later claim to be wise.

You don't have to wait for this Impossibility.. If Nigerian Youths Team up with Stones and Sticks and Chase the Bastards out so they know that the people are in Charge. Less than a Million Youths can do the Job, I mean Nigeria has more than 40million Youths and Unless the Youths act, these Idiots will be taking them for granted.

Osibanjo and Buhari were a very big mistake. It's not bad if it's corrected earlier by the Senate.

The guys at the senate are just being dramatic.,that said, I don't know what Tinubu & others saw in Buhari, GEJ wasn't an option in 2015. Atiku would have been a better president when it comes to relationship with the guys at the NASS. U na just dey start, Saraki and his boys will deal with una.

Sarakis is a bigger name, it cuts across. Who sabi Tinubu?

Lol you guys know nothing about laws of land. I'm sad the education system failed you. If you guys googet the constitution instead of getting emotional. You would know the senate has a point. 1999 constitution section 147 gives them power to confirm appointments. Osinbajo must have been drunk when he wrote that letter.

Impeach him for subversion of their constitutional duties is pretty fair. I'm guessingyou guys are up in arms because he's from south. If Buhari did it you guys might understand.

This is amazing How Nigeria is looking like this days. The issue at the front burner is neglected to some cheap desire to be important. The Senate must recognize Nigerians are watching their moves

This Buhari and APC govt is the worst ever in the history of Nigeria

Just recently, US president Donald Trump nominated Andrew Pudzer as Secretary of Labour. The US Congress turned down his nomination and immediately that became the end. Trump had to immediately forward a replacement to Congress.

It is only in Nigeria that the country's National Assembly (an equivalent of US Congress) will reject the president's nominee and members of the Executive will insist they will rather keep him in perpetual Acting capacity than doing away with him. What then was the reason for forwarding the names to National Assembly in the first place?

These people are turning our beloved country to a theatre of comedy

Hahahahahahahaha you call Nigerian Senate an equivalent of the US senate?? I nearly pee for body with laughter...

Are u kidding me?

Or maybe we should create another topic on that issue.

One has dignity n self respect, the other has only avarice for more money.

But why should Osinbajo in his wide knowledge of the law of the nation as a prof of law utter such derogatory statement. He knows what the country is up for and should have tamed his tongue for now cos there is danger ahead. Osinbajo....you are on ur own.

Osibanjo refused to use his acting president power to sack non performing ministers, DGs, ets
Secondly, the comments credited to him on the confirmation powers of the senate was totally wrong and against the law of the land
Thirdly, his unholy ambition to be president come 2019 with the hope of winning South South, South West, South East, North central without deep consideration to North East/West and the current political tension/agitations will definitely puncture his acting presidency.

MY JUDGEMENT:
Osibanjo, though a professor of law, failed to observe three fundamental laws of power capable of securing his tenure as acting president and promoting him politically. HE SHOULD THEREFORE BE IMPEACH so he can learn the hard way.

I RISE!!!

In this case your laws are the same. Check your constitution. They really need to give Government classes in high school. The education system failed.

1999 constitution section 147.

You don't need to insult me. You could have passed your view/opinion without insult.
What i claimed is that the example provided is not relevant as laws of two different countries are not always the same.
Now what the VP said was NOT ALL appointments require confirmation by the Senate! Of course he knows some appointments are null and void without Senate confirmation.

Now section 147 you quoted deal with only Appointments of Ministers! Which is not what we are discussing So who did the education system fail?

U need to compare the reasons for the rejection in both cases

Senate is yet to convince the executive on the reason for rejectin magu

You're still wrong. Read National Lottery Act of 2005. Again my point about education system failing you stands. Read section 8 (1) of the national lottery act which states that the appointment of the DG is subject to senate’s confirmation. Lol at who ever liked your comment.

Seriously Do Nigerians think? You guys rush to comment without even examinin situation. The senate has power to confirm appointments. Why do you guys see nothing wrong with exexuactive branch over stepping its authority. You guys just hypocritical tribalist and sectionalist. Osinbajo just like Buhari is wrong.

Ps: stop using word coup. Impeachment is Democratic process that requires the majority of the votes of both houses. Coup d'etat just require guns.
You got it wrong, in Nigeria we have a constitution, however flawed it way be, we have and is binding on us all, whether executive, legislature e,Judiciary or the common man. Right now the acting president, a professor of law said he went through the Constitution and he wasn't able to find where it was written that the legislature has such powers, now I'm not saying he is right or wrong, and like someone said the matter is already at the Supreme Court, the Judiciary being the only body that can interpret any law would tell us who has the power to make confirmation of appointments . so except you have found the section in the Constitution that gives the legislature the power to make confirmations I will tell you to stop assuming. The powers and extent of such power granted each of the arms of government is clearly stated in the Constitution.

Have you ever asked yourself the rationale behind their turning Magu down? Have you reasoned into the credibility of the house members? For common sense's sake, you guys should stop comparing Nigeria with the US, etc
