He never had about him? Uncle history, please go back and sue all of your past English teachers. quote author=GLOBALINF post=58134911]This is the best way to go! I remember asking a 19year old guy, if he knew anything about the man drawn on 100naira note! So sad he didn't even know he was once the premier of south-west. He didn't know anything about Abiola even claimed he never had about him before. We need history. I'm sure when some people hear the history of their homeland and how we got to where wehe never had about him? are, they will not just wake up one day and start disturbing everyone of breakup. Lack of knowledge of history is like flying an airplane without a compass. For an airplane to have a successful journey, it must know where it took-off, where it is at any point in time in the sky, the direction it must fly to get to it’s desired destination. When you know your history, you'll know the whole truth, you'll understand why you're in your present condition, how to avoid mistakes of the past, and what you need to do......................Africason. |

As at year 2000 that I graduated from secondary school I offered history as a subject even up to waec level. why would any one scrap history in the first place? It's just lack of foresight on the part of our education administrators, history made me know about the great samouri toure and the madinka empire, mai idris aloma, mai idris katakamabi, mai Ali ghaji, the kanem Bornu empire, trans Atlantic and trans sahara slave trade etc |

This is to hear from lagos state, thank you. Is only Nigeria that does not have history, what a big shame to our stealing leaders. The executives are afraid that their children yet unborn should not know they were fantastically armed robbers. |

Only a foolish nation will remove History from her curriculum. In the States and in Canada, a course in History is usually a prerequisite even at the Tetiary level, irrespective of your discipline. At the least you would study the History of the State you reside. Before 2007 History was placed as an alternative to government which is a far cry. A nation that knows not her history or study it is failed to doom. How else does she study her past to understand te present and then project into the future? History is to be made a complusory subject atleast from Primary to Secondary school in Nigeria. |
