If a doctor would stick to medicine and a lawyer to law, then what is about the concept of being a DIY enthusiast?
Because if the bolded statement is to be strictly followed, aswear ńa to dey call @ Oshomo12 every time I need things done on my setup.
To be serious though, I believe the op learnt the hard way. He was in such a hurry that he didn't ask questions on changing his panel config here before taking that step of increasing panel voltages to 48v config when his inverter is 24v, especially when he has been told that his CC is PWM falsely labelled as MPPT.
Few days ago, had a mechanic work to replace a stripped alternator belt that made battery charging poor. After office hours and tired from the day's work, I just paid him, jumped into the car and drove off.
25 kilometers later and rather too late, I noticed the temp gauge had almost risen to max and steam coming out from under the hood so I interrupted the trip to allow for cooling. Reason for this nonsense is that the mecho had pulled off the plug supply to the radiator fan and so I reconnected it. Refilling the radiator, I noticed the gasket was blown already.
So much for a 15 minutes change of alternator belt.

Remove the "electricals" for me as I no get mind play with 240 VAC. I've seen enough of what electrical burns can do to people. If you get to survive it, be thankful if you escape with something as bad as a carcassed limb that requires amputation.
But put "plumbing" instead sha. That one requires playing with ordinary plastic and water instead of fire.

I work with electricals when everything is turned off from the mains.

Looooool stay in your lane at your own risk.
I'd pay professionals but I like to know what they are doing biko.
I'm the one spending
That's how anytime I get a new car they tell me to remove thermostat and put double cell radiator when it's part of what kills engines fast here.

I am a newbie to this inverter thing.
I recently got a 3.5kva, 24Vblue gate inverter(only) from someone relocating. I think it's a non-hybrid. Can you guide me on the best accessories to go with it; best batteries, charge controller, good panels pending while I get someone to help me install it. What setup or combination is the best.
I want to get it right the first time, pls help.
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by TechGeek777: 3:26pm On Sep 06, 2022
Thanks, but you can actually specify the battery type (this will adjust the charging capacity by 15% of total battery capacity selected), set low voltage disconnect and perform equalization all from the Central Panel (i.e. the inverter itself without display monitor) when you remove the screws.
Voltage compensated charging (VCC): Through separately installed VS (battery voltage sensor), Energier pro Inverter Charger Combination could automatically adjust its output compensating the voltage drop on the cable assuring the full charging through delivering the right voltage to battery.
This VCC should take care of the bolded right?

Great Start on the solar journey. . Yes, its a non-hybrid which means you need a separate charge controller to use solar panels.
Your budget will determine a lot of the accessories you will need to purchase as addons to the inverter. Here are my own guides:
1. Solar Panels
For solar panels, my budget brand to recommend is Yingli Solar Panels. The 380W panel is going for about N90K as of my last inquiries. You can go for those other cheap alaba solar panels if you want something cheaper but you won't get the rated capacity and quality. Four panels should be okay to charge your batteries quickly with 1520W of power.
2. Solar Charge Controller
Of course MPPT is the best way to go and the MakeSkyBlue and Powmr charge controllers are our budget options to recommend. If your budget is higher you can use Epever. A 50amp charge controller should be just fine.
I personally prefer AGM batteries like Monbat or Amaron Quanta for Lead Acid as my budget brands. But to be a bit more easy on the wallet you can go for tubular brands like Index, Rita, Eastman etc. Since you have a 24v inverter and most batteries are 12v in series, it means you need to buy minimum of 2 batteries 12v for the inverter.
Please take the above with a huge pinch of salt as without knowing your budget, one cannot accurately recommend the right products for you. I hope this helps you out in your own research. Cheers.

Do I know you? What have I got to do with whatever is wrong with you pls.
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by zeestone99(m): 8:13pm On Sep 06, 2022
Probably you are using cheap technicians, they bill u less and they help u save moni by using shortcuts and cheap materials. You could try other qualified technicians out there, they don't come cheap.
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Juror: 9:57pm On Sep 06, 2022
Yes you can specify battery type and some other parameters directly on the inverter using the dip switch combinations but this doesn't still give you the flexibility of setting the voltages.
No VCC doesn't take care of that. Temperature affects the battery charging process, the TBB inverter comes with a temperature sensor which would be attached to the battery and enables the inverter to adjust the charging voltage based on the battery temperature.
That's what that part you share is referring to.

For all that have responded to my message, I appreciate it and your line of thought. But all stated and pointing to one major part, YOU GUYS KNOW ABOUT THIS STUFF, no matter how little. BUT op touched what could burn down a house, he knows nothing about this thing, that's my point. Well it is well, even inside the well.

When I got a Peugeot brand new in 2008 I used SCOA for servicing and repairs.
When the car had fuel pump issues about 4 years in it was someone here on nairaland that solved it for me, they parked my car for months after I gave them money that could have been used for another car.
In 2020 I took a car for respray to a fancy place in GRA close to Mandela car wash.
They took the car apart and it never was the same when they put it back together, the door caught fire 2 weeks later because of bad connections they made.
If you know PH you'd know the place, it's not cheap in any way.
I can go on an on
in Nigeria (abroad too), most charlatans come with plenty English and fancy packaging.
You need to have an idea what you're doing to see through that.
Don't jump in and assume what you're not sure of it reeks of arrogance and ignorance.
In some cases read and scroll
I'm sure it was qualified technicians that destroyed @firethesun roof

I got a new "toy" Ashapower 80amp MPPT CC,
Anyone with me on this one?
It's got some additional technology to make the non-smart inverter smart by connecting the Inverter to it rather than connecting it conventionally to grid directly...

Kindly share. It has been out of stock for a while now
I have heard many good stuff about it.

So much bad blood in recent times.
Anyway, a Chinese seller is recommending a BYD 300ah as an alternative to Eve Lithium, anyone has any previous experience with it?
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by dollarnaira: 10:13am On Sep 07, 2022
The price u bought it should answer it.
The cheapest mppt (powmr) is about 60k now from 3rd party.

Read to understand.
2 examples isn't all, My cars sound like new with years of use and the people I use know what they are doing because now I take time to get basic understanding of whatever I want to get myself into.
That way, I can easily detect anyone who wants to bullshit me with technical terms. I pay competent people more than they ask for my mechanics leave everything and come to my place if I call because they know that.
Most charlatans come with plenty English and fancy packaging.
You need to have an idea what you're doing to see through that.
That's the point

Finally here to seek advice on this solar installation. I hv a plan to have 3.5kva or 5kva solar to power my house. I will like a neat and compact sizing hence am looking at going for the lithium battery.
Hoping to power 55inches smart tv , 394 liter Samsung refrigerator, 7 led light , 3 rechargeable fan .
I will like to start using the solar but which comes first as i intend to start without panels but will buy the panel along the line and build up .
Pls Whats the wattage of this 2 electronic as I couldn't calculate it .
Pls i need advice on the way around this thing .

How long do you need to keep these things on? TV? Fridge?
That matters since no solar, then check the back of the TV and back (or inside door) of the fridge how many watts on the sticker.
Or if you use prepaid, how many units do you consume in a day/month?
Post those, experienced people here would be able to help.
I've gotten a lot of help from here too.

What is the KWh of your system, or will a 280AH 24V LiFe04 be able to do this also?
