2. Tower
3. Keyboard
4. Mouse
5. External Speakers
6. External Webcam
7. UPS to serve as battery

When everything dey one laptop.

Except person dey run server that require multiple disks, why not just buy a laptop?

Hmmmmm, I wonder why "morons" still use those items u listed up there for dedicated, highly sensitive work?

Please is there any ready made power box with solar that can carry a load of 250watt for atleast 6 hours? Anyone has an idea?
Such ready Made boxes, are often not cost effective at all.

Why not just go for the bare minimum - 1 Solar panel, 1 or 2 batteries, PWM controller, a cheap inverter even if na sachet inverter.
These are things you could coble yourself so as to escape (most) steep installer costs.

If you're cost conscious, you buy used Solar panel, used charge controller, sachet inverter, then Brand New / Used Quality battery.
Never compromise on batteries no matter how CHEAP you want to go.

And you have the freedom of expanding if need be or when you're able to.

The entire above should cost anywhere from 180,000 naira depending on location. Even that FROM could be a little bit lower depending...

You might have to explain those BATTERY ratings so some people don't get overtly excited unnecessarily.

Before they start jubilating on the prices, They need know they need at least 4pcs of those batteries above to get 12-Volts.

I've been wondering, what is the difference between sachet inverter and the bigger Stabilizer/UPS/Wall mounted type of inverter?

Someone posted a 3,000w sachet inverter for 66k ... But the other non sachet inverter of same rating would probably cost 200k

Aren't they the same and what's the difference?

Thanks for anticipated response

Sachet inverters are Less Durable, Less Expensive, but more Energy efficient

They are for geeks. People that understand what they are doing.

Not everyone is like that. How many people, especially women, know the difference between live and neutral wire? If you want to do solar for someone who doesn't know anything about basic electricity, the less complicated, the better.

I have a small set up of single panel, pwm cc, battery and sachet inverter at village. Old man and baby bros travel go village. Five days later they messed me that "the solar is not working again" undecided

Apparently, junior bros had been running down the lead acid battery overnight to charge his phones. All explanation not to discharge the battery below 11v have fallen on deaf ears

WHOLE HOUSE is not a Quantifier .

State load of that Whole House.
A "whole house" could have just load of 20-inch LCD Tv, 2 Bulbs, 1 standing Fan and maybe DVD player.
Another "whole house" could have load of 40-inch Plasma TV, 3 Ceiling Fans, AirConditioner(s), Many Lighht bulbs, Freezer/fridge, etc.

So what you need do is state the load so people in here could make guesses. I say make Guesses, because without listing Watt ratings of each appliances, with how long / frequency of use, we could never give up to 90% accurate response.

moreover, the Batteries are more in Use at Night or during very cloudy days else na Mostly solar Panels go dey do the supplying.

The batteries are more of a Reserviour for when the Solar Panel isn't supplying, or can't keep up with load.

Dear fellow solar enthusiast and Engineers in the house……..

We all know the economy is biting harder every day and buying fuel every day to run the house while currently embarking on a house building project is really eating a big chunk on my daily expenses and I would like to take away this burden permanently by installing a solar system.

Firstly, Since I’m really new to this kind of setup… I would like to ask a lot but few questions so that I can choose or make the best decision when getting the system installed in my house. I have already settled for a 3.5KVA Inverter solar system, because I need it to power my chest freezer at home (Since this is the most important thing at home for food storage) NEPA light is non-existent in my area

1. Which inverter brand is the best based on your experience or customer reviews, I have heard about transformer based and those with microprocessors, which one is better and can withstand the test of time (I know nothing lasts forever) but I should get value for my money

2. For a 3.5KVA system, How many batteries and solar panels is needed for this kind of setup to power a chest freezer for at least 4-5 hours daily

3. What is the difference between the 12V, 24V and 48V type of inverter system? Which one of this is more efficient?

4. What’s the best and efficient battery for a good solar system setup, I understand Lithium battery is good, but right now it is expensive for my budget (Cos I’m currently embarking on a project that requires more funds) Tall Tubular Battery? Gel-battery or Lead acid battery?

5. Which brand of solar panels is better? I’ve read online that Monocrystalline Panels are the best, but which of this MC panel brands in Nigeria are of good quality?

6. Is it a requirement to buy lot of panels with low wattage when I can get a higher wattage panels with less quantity to install on the roof?

7. Why do we settle for inverters with external charge controller rather than an inbuilt charger or recommend a good hybrid inverter brand with at least 100A MPTT Charge controller

8. Lastly, is there a type of inverter that can use energy generated directly from the solar panels during the day for powering of appliances while charging the battery for night use without been in use during the day time? If yes what are the setup required for this kind of system?

I know most of these questions might have been answered in previous pages, but I will be grateful if you guys can be of help to a newbie trying to get some information on solar systems

I tested a newly installed AC water with TDS Meter today and I got 6ppm. I was actually expecting a lower value.
My borehole water reading was 12ppm.

cheesy

It can't work like that for now because I don't think the technology is available. The current generated by solar panels is in pulses. It's not steady. If you connect a solar panel directly to a UPS, it'll come on, but maybe 3 seconds after, go off.

That's because the wave is not steady, like zig zag pattern. That's why a battery is needed to store the current from panel first

1.5mm is too small for the pump.
It will work but there will be a lot of voltage drops which will increase the current draw it the pump.

Nothing funny about your question. It is not only valid but also achievable.

There are inverters that prioritize solar usage when there is sun, the extra power is then used to charge the batteries.

I am not sure that bros understood your question properly.
