How much is this solution

abuzz33:

Inverter - 1m
Battery - 3m
Panels - 2m

Not a 5m solution.

So by the special grace of almighty I don upgrade o.

18/02/24 I am finally retiring my dry cells
From 21/04/21 to 18/02/24. They have really paid their dues.

Yesterday I went to get these

3KVA All in one unit with a 24v, 5kwh LFPB.

In addition I got a deal for about 10 x 355wp panels yet to be delivered though.

Cost outlay

Inverter 423k
LFPB 1.350m
PV array 480k.

I am so excited about it's features and flexibility.

I have option to make any of these priority PV, battery or utility. It can be programmed to choose any first then another.

Anyway I am still observing the system.

My darling freezer can now enjoy what other gardgets have been enjoying...

So I have taken delivery of my pv panels. 16nos x 320vp. I already have a couple of old ones which includes 2nos x 325wp.

So as at today my set up is

- 3kva high voltage hybrid inverter
- 5kWh Lipo battery
- 9S2P 18nos 320Wp solar pv panels
- Wifi datalogger
- Contactor 2NC 2NO acting as automatic change over for freezer. This is regulated by the inverter dry contact.

You may keep it anyways, but if the cost may be needed for the upgrade, sell it.
Exactly what I will do. I will sell it. I'm getting panels first. Then inverter and battery.

I will advice you STRONGLY not to sell. You will not be able to get it at the price you sold it if you need it back . Moreover, you won't have any backup in case anything happens. Find money for your upgrade. You will have reasons to remember this advice in the future.

I have my shortcomings with hybrid based on my experience. If its a 12v system, I'd advice standalone systems. Advantage of the hybrid is it wud take more panels compared to it's standalone charge controller eg my 12v hybrid can take up to 2500 watts yet the mppt won't go above 720w theoretically

I was at their Physical Warehouse anyway, they have the product and will use a logistics company to send your goods, they assume how things are done in China, and they use Speedaf, If you have ordered something from China and got through Speedaf you will understand.
Still, perform your due diligence I do not have affiliation with them.

Hello Guyz,
I just needed a professional opinion on this.
I currently have a 12V system with 1000W(4X250) PV in use for about 3years connected to 2 220AH tubular with a 60A CC.
Experience has been good but I'm thinking of upgrading to a Hybrid system. Reasons been that I want to do it in phases myself.
Base on the research in this thread i was able to drill down to the following hardwares:

SMS Hybrid Inverter 2kva/ 2000W 12V (Mppt 80A)
625W X 4 Jinko PV due to space.

However, based on my research, I'm skeptical about the inverter ability to handle the energy from the panel or go the route of upgrading to a 24V system with 120A CC with same amount of panels due to space.

My questions are:
1. Has anyone used that Inverter and whether it can stand test of time.
2. Based on the ratings I've seen for the inverter being 4000W for PV, with it be able to handle future PV addition.
3. Would you advice upgrade the system to a 24V system with 120A CC.

NB: Everything is within a budget and can't exceed but has been prioritized.

All opinions are welcome.
