the difference is the voltage. A 12v solar panel will mostly cap it vmp @ 18, enough to push the amps into the batt, while 24v solar panel will capped its vmp @ above the nominal voltage of a 24v system.

I think I can confirm to you guys that this balancer of a thing works although I never believed in it. But I can tell you all the batteries have the same voltage after 5 days in operation

For 8 batteries how many balancers do I need and at what cost ?

I always advice people to buy the HA02 ( 4 wire pairs) version even in a 24v config and tape off the unused terminals simply because the HA02 can move twice the current that the HA01 can - also no lights or any extraneous circuitry on the HA02 that could spoil.

A 200w 12v panel and 200w 24v panel will produce approximately thesame amount of power - however all things being equal the current flowing through the 12v panel will be about twice that of the 24v panel - hence you will need thicker gauge cable e.t.c with the 12v panel.

What you want is more power delivered in the most economically feasible way (think higher voltages and thinner [therefore cheaper] wires and less losses) so if you have to choose then always go for the 24v 200w panel over 12v 200w except your specific system design requires a 12v panel

what happens if we use 2 x 200w 12v in series and we flush it down an MPPT, then we do 1 x 200w 24v and flush it down mppt, all flushed down to 12v via mppt, what would the cumulative fraction(ratio) of current be between both, lets say in one "average weather" day.
