Born and brought up in Baptist Church where they helped in shapenng my Spiritual life not to talk of the daily Bible readings and Popsy always ready with a fan belt to whip you in line in case you "mis read" any part of the Bible. Attended Anglican Church a while and then the African Church, after which I went to CAC and then back to Baptist Church. All of them have contributed in one way or the other to my Spiritual life. Above all, The Heavenly Kingdom is the main goal, I pray we all get there. 6 Likes |

Born into a Baptist church.. the teachings are wonderful! From childhood to adulthood to old age From Sunbeam (children church) to Girls Auxiliary to Lydia Auxiliary (for girls/ladies), Royal Ambassadors (For boys) to Women Missionary or Men Missionary. Whao!!.. The teachings from each stages are inspiring and uplifting! Talk more of Sunday School classes, Discipleship classes, and lots more! These teachings help us to grow in Christ as children and help us to remain in Christ as adults! Thank God I'm a Baptist #ProudToBeABaptistMember 8 Likes |

I attended deeper life Christian ministry and it helped a lot in moulding me spiritually. If not for that, I'm sure I would have probably lost faith in Christianity cos what I saw later, was enough to quit church. 1 Like |

Born Catholic, still an unwavering Catholic and will die a Catholic. However, just like the Pope, I do respect other Christian denominations and peaceful faiths. |

I grew up living with my dads immediate younger sister who happens to be a member of The Apostolic faith Church (a.k.a ijo elekun) back then in ilorin at agbo oba road, with headquarters at Anthony village, lagos. what a church, I was well groomed with d world of God, very very spiritual that we see other denominations as unbelievers. We no dey watch tv, no earrings for females, no drugs, no hospital, we no dey dance for church, men no dey keep beards, no offering except tithe, if you dey pray and u no cry join, usher go tap you, (to tell you that you are just playing) up till today, I never sabi dance as d church affect me reach, upon say I don dey attend winners ever since I relocated to lagos at the age of 14, am 33 now. But I missed their musical concert well well. 1 Like |

hmmmm. if not for deeper life I wonder how my life would have been now, growing up in children class was the best place to start from ..you learn holiness, discipline, teaching about the cross and eternity .. i later left deeper life, been music lover and a worshiper I look for church that fit that...the truth is all my children must grow up in deeper life... their teaching gives me the moral Christian life I'm living now ..but the church is lacking one thing not only deeper life 99% of today church which is (love in the aspect of giving, sharing to those that lack or need help ) 3 Likes |

The first time my sister took me to Presbyterian church, I was about 8 then. The impression I got was that you have to dress well on Sunday with your best clothes, make offering at church,. I also was of the impression Egypt and Israel were in heaven. Now, I know that isn't true. Later, I attended Jehovahs witnesses. From drawing on their Awake and Watchtower magazines, the impression there was that Adam and Eve, Moses, David, Solomon, e.t.c were white people and that there were no black people involved in biblical history. Now, I know the opposite is the case. The only good thing I learned generally was obey the 10 commandments, especially "honor your parents so your days shall be long" which I obeyed growing up. |

I was brought up as a jehovah's witness.as a child there were so many thing i did not like about the church, for example their disdain for traditional african cultural practices, discrimination against other churches, segregating their members from mainstream socities and so many other things. However,i always owe them a huge appreciation for instilling in me self-discipline and control as well shaping and expanding my intellectual capacities, which put me above my peers then through constant reading of their magazines like AWAKE and WATCHTOWER.This early exposure made me to gain a rare insight about the complexities of socio-political,economic and religious at a global level which seem to marvel most adult of whom i came in contact with.i can rember my school days when we re having lecture on philosophical anthropology about the origin of man,and the lecture asked if anyone had an idea about what evolution meant, mehn,i stood up and mesmerised both my course mates and the lecturer with a vivid answer even quoting Charles Darwin.afterwards my lecturer asked me if i had been studying the course on my own and i said no, that i gain my knowledge by reading jehovah's witnesses publication titled:Life how did it get here-by evolution or by creation?jehovah's witness is what made me to think deeper about life, even though i'm an atheist now. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Have never really liked going to church I noticed that back then I liked it when everybody just stayed at home on a sunday. Back then we attended a Pentecostal Church, Living Water Ministries at Iba. Then we moved to another neighbourhood and the distance be came too far, so we changed to Watchman, never liked there for one day. Later on, I started attending Assemblies of God on an OFF and ON basis. On getting into the University, I stopped entirely, was in church only 2 times throughout my years in the University based on invitation. And now, I dont attend any! Guess I have never liked going to church, and also dont let what anybody preaches disturb me. |

R.C.M.(Roman CATHOLIC Mission School) Ebako Ihima. because we were always in white uniform, I learnt over the years to always keep my clothes clean and by implications, it helps me to live a matured life style. those days, I treasure my clean white shirt so much that I don't like to fight when I had my uniform on and this gradually became part of me whether I was in my uniform or my other clothes. |

This kind of topics bring disunity and segregation among Christians. We get to see people claiming that their church teaches this unlike other etc Now get it, the best training starts from home. Give your kids the best training, teach them about good and bad. Look for a church your spirit accepts, a church you are fine with their teachings and also have a good school school classes for kids. There's no point coming online to ask these questions, you will only get confused. |
