This is a necessary squabble and growing pains, at the end of the day, we remain brothers and sister and Lagos shall continue to progress and keep setting the pace in Nigeria. “B’oju o ba ti Ehin’gbeti, oju o ni t’Eko”. |

Is it possible for Fashola to run as an independent? Does the Nigerian constitution or electoral laws even permit such an action? |

There is a saying which explains that "the broom that is used to sweep out the first wife is waiting in the corner for the next wife" or "the stick that is used to discipline the first child is waiting for the second". When Tinubu fell out with his deputy Otunba Femi Pedro, who was performing admirably as a very capable administrator and was very popular (sound familiar ). People like then chief of staff Fashola, as well as other Lagos state politicians stood silently (some cheered) and watched as Tinubu and his political machinery drove out Pedro and targeted him for no real offense. Fashola at the time vehemently defended the actions. Later Fashola himself benefited from the actions of the Tinubu political machinery to crush all his primary opponents (which included once again Otunba Pedro and Jimi Agbaje). Now he is seeing that as I said above, the same fate that befell Tinubu's first protege (in the deputy Otunba Pedro) also seems to be happening to him. The Irony of this is too much for me to ignore . Well all the best to Fashola in his fight, hopefully he won't suffer the same fate as his predecessors. |
