In a move that is bound to have a very negative impact and repercussion on the mentality of the populace in Kogi State in particular and Nigeria generally, a woman who goes by the name Mrs Husseinna Mohammed has not only received a query concerning her return of #1.8 million mistakenly paid in to her account back to the government coffers but has had the payment of her salary put on hold until further notice.

Add to this the issues of her being the bread winner of her family due to the fact that her husband who is also on the payroll of the same government has not been paid his legitimate salary for more than 15 months and you will get the picture of the kind of collateral damage this situation will surely cause in the minds of the average citizens of this country especially the youth.

And to imagine that all of this is happening at a time in Nigeria’s history when there is recession in the country to the extent that the nation is presently engulfed in different forms and categories of crime.

Honestly, who will blame this woman’s children if in future they find themselves in this kind of situation and decide to keep the money? Who on hearing this sad story will in his or her right senses want to be patriotic to such an ungrateful government?

But wait a minute. What was the reason given by the Authorities for such an act of ingratitude?
