The issue is that these banks give huge loans that turned out to be bad loans to so call big men on a paddy-paddy level, while the common man is asked to provide unreasonable collaterals. Which business can survive on 26% - 30% interest rate loan. In fact, what business is that in a non-productive country as Nigeria with no adequate power supply.

You cannot run a successful business without some level of debt. Its not just possible. However the size and structure of the debt matters and the leverage the supplementary cash brings. I go in and out of one debt or the other every week. Without it I can not stabilise investments and productivity.

All of them owe. There is no successful enterprise without debts. If you have none it is either you are not investing, expanding or producing much. It takes time from conception through research to production. How do you sustain this process without debts. How does the farmer pay for producing his crops before the market brings a return.

Mr Kuti needs to understand that their debt doesn't just fund their lavish lifestyles, it also pushes growth in the economy, since most of it goes into business investments that create jobs and expand the amount of money in circulation.
