Truce meeting: Tinubu walks out on Fashola, Akiolu •Protesters storm Lagos House of Assembly, boo Speaker

IN a bid to resolve the feud between the Lagos State governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola and his predecessor, Senator Bola Tinubu, a meeting of eminent indigenes of the state, led by the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu I, was held late on Sunday.


At the meeting called to broker peace between the governor and his supposed godfather, which dragged till Monday morning, all efforts by the eminent indigenes of the state to settle the feud were said to have hit the rock.

It was gathered that Senator Tinubu angrily walked out of the meeting and this, it was learnt, infuriated the monarch and others in attendance.

Meanwhile, in a swift reaction, thousands of protesters stormed the Lagos State House of Assembly on Monday to protest the allegation levelled against Governor Fashola, saying it was a plot by the lawmakers to impeach the governor.

After several public denials of bad waters flowing between the two of them it is now glaringly evident things have been falling apart for long. Until we kill the art of selection and hand picking of successors this will definitely be the other of the day.
