The article written by erudite professor Wole Soyinka titled "Biafra has not been defeated" captures the very essence of the spirit of Biafra that has refused to go away even after 47 years. The 1967 to 1970 civil war is actually the closest than that the Nigerian government can come to defeat the defiant Biafran activist because unlike in the sixties where bullets were the best form of protest. Today, we're in a jet age where technology and it's use have become a major tool for social change. A case in point being the uprising in the Arab world and even the enthroning of Nigeria's current but absent president, Buhari.

The current Biafran agitation would have been a piece of cake for the Nigerian government to quell has the agitators towed the path of the Niger Delta militants who waged war against the Nigerian state. Instead they chose to adopt a different approach. First they started with civil disobedience which, despite it's largely peaceful nation gave the Nigerian military and other forces the excuse to open fire on innocent protesters. According to Amnesty International, over 150 pro Biafran agitators have been killed by the Nigerian forces.

The new tactic employed by the Indegenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by the resolute Nnamdi Kanu has made it even more difficult for the federal government to launch an offensive on innocent protesters. The "SIT AT HOME" style of protest will make it very difficult for any government in black Africa to contend with. How exactly do you fight someone who stays inside his house eating "Ofe Nsala" as opposed to marching on the streets, especially when it is becomes largely successful.

I think at this point, the government of the day should sheath their swords and call for a round table meeting where everything will be discussed. They can call it a sovereign National conference of whatever name they choose. But the current agitations should not be mistaken for a tea party. The awareness is growing and people who are becoming more disenchantment with the country are joining the movement to register their displeasure. The time to act is now. As they say a "A stitch in time saves nine".

If you want to motivate an Igbo man, tell him that he can't do something.

The true reason why the 20 pounds policy failed to impoverish ndigbo was because igbos took it as a challenge. Today you can't differentiate where the war was fought because Igbos with their hard work rebuilt their cities.

The current agitation for Biafra is worldwide. The movement outside the boundaries of the cesspit called Nigeria comprises intellectuals from all works of life and does not exclusively consist of Ndigbo as some numbskulls in Niger-Area would want everybody to believe.

They'll never do it.
At the moment, they're still wishing things away.Sticking their heads in sand.

They never take serious decisions until its too late.
They never dialogue until it's too late.

The gambari's and afonja's vampires taught we will pick up arm so that they will use the opportunity to suck blood but they didn't know that were wiser so they where disappointed.

Even during campaign for sit at home they taught IPOB will be moving up & down forcing people to close their shop or offices so that the vampires will suck blood but they were disappointed.

To show the extent of blood they want they now change call for referendum as call for war but they will be disgraced again.

You are on point!

At the early stage of the war,Once the Biafrans heard Gowon declared that he will defeat the Biafrans in 3 days, they became emboldened and moved to prove him wrong.

Despite the air, land and sea blockade, they were forced to source local materials to produce what they need. Construction of air port/field in Uli,They refined their own oil,Built state of the art bunker, produced several tanks and rockets etc

The main motivation here was to prove Gowon's 3days assertion wrong.

Myself Whenever I read comments of people here saying Nigeria can never divide and that Biafra is a imaginary country, I will even redouble my effort just to prove them wrong.

"Alaafin of Oyo backs restructuring, says current system retrogressive"

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, on Monday in Ibadan backed calls for Nigeria’s restructuring, stressing that the present arrangement would not allow states in Nigeria to develop at their own pace.

The monarch spoke at the public presentation of a biography and postscript titled, ‘Samuel Ladoke Akintola in the eyes of history’, which was written by Femi Kehinde.

According to Alaafin, the North was favoured in terms of revenue allocation because while more states and council areas were created in the region, the southern states had yet to enjoy similar opportunity.

He said, “The first time that the Federal Government would interfere in state affairs began when the government at the centre interfered in the feud between Akintola and (the late Chief Obafemi) Awolowo. The government, in support of Akintola, declared a state of emergency in the old Western Region, snowballing into a serious crisis.

igbozionism:
if you see what ipob did at our church yesterday you go laugh tire. last two weeks our pastor condemned Nnamdi KANU on the basis that he is not a Christian but a Jew.

the news travelled to Nnamdi KANU fast and ipob decided to worship with us yesterday. the whole police station in aba slept at our church yesterday including the DPO because over a hundred thousand ipob members stormed our church and threatened to bring it down lolz. though prior to their coming they informed the church which made the destrict superintendent and our pastor to travel to umuahia to beg KANU but he refused to see our pastor.

Nnamdi KANU and ipob is a force to be reckoned with. they are so strong to the extent that some of their members are on blood covenant not betray each other. that is why the help each other. there will be no more saboteurs in the struggle. if you betray Biafra you die.
