French President Macron has blamed Africa’s problems on its civilization. He also complained of the millions of Euros France spends trying to ‘stabillize’ Africa.

Speaking at the G20 summit in Hamburg, he said;“The challenges in Africa are totally different… It is civilisational. What are the problems in Africa? The failed states, the complex democratic transition, the demographic transition…

Not done, Macronwent on to say that another challenge Africa faces is its increasing population, stating that Africa had a ratio of 7-8 children per woman.

His comments have drawn critisism online from people who say that is the kind of speech they would have expected from a far right politician but not from Macron.

Macron is a far right politician, but he realizes that France is laden with immigrant population, so he pretended to be leftist during the election.

I'm glad someone finally brought this up .
Let's do some calculations for 3 generations.

Let's assume Team A gives birth to an average of 8 kids per unit.
G1: 1*8 =8
G2: 8*8=64
G3: 64*8=512

From a single man . In 3 generations

Team B gives birth to an average of 2 kids per unit
G1: 1*2=2
G2: 2*2=4
G3: 4*2=8

Now let's compare 8 to 512 .
Just a rough sketch tho but I guess proves a point .

Is it just me or there is a problem with the African brain

He is absolutely right!

In Nigeria we have not had any form of our own civilisation nor have we tried to define what our own citizenship is about

Rather we are leading a destiny imposed on us by the British

And yet we wonder why it is not working?

Macron is complaining of the millions of Euro France spends each year trying to 'stabilize' Africa. Has he factored in the amount of money France siphoned from Africa through slave trade (genocidal kidnap and brain drain) and colonialism ( forced resource exploitation and deliberate underdevelopment)?

Half the wars being experienced in Africa today are because France and other European countries bunched Africa up into several artificial nations in their greedy bid to exploit out continent at the Congress of Berlin where they scrambled for Africa. Macron cannot wash his country's hands from the mess Africa and her people's are in today.

Even Bakassi: It was France's backing that emboldened Cameroon to seize it from Nigeria. Today Nigerians are being killed by Cameroonian gendarmes with impunity because Cameroon knows she can count on France for help if Nigeria tries to teach her a lesson in manners.

Anyway, it is not Macron I blame, but our political class that has dug Nigeria deeper into the shithole we were thrown into, instead of digging us out of it.

Please, see what we wrote in the last paragraph. We are putting more blame on the political class for keeping us in this messy situation instead of improving it.

Why are you obsessed about America then instead of Nigeria. You are not true to yourself. You eat , sleep and dream about America 247 and now you are fessing up about helping your country. Leave America alone and concentrate on Nigeria.

What is 'civilizational' in Africa's numerous challenges?

What does Macron mean by 'civilizational'?

What is the difference between France's or America's complex 'democratic transition' and Africa's?

What is the difference between the democratic party supporter of Hillary Clinton shooting a congressman and Buhari's supporters who killed 800 people in 2011?

Both of them refused to accept defeat.

What is the difference between Le Pen 'inheriting' her father's party in France and Joseph Kabila in DR Congo?

What is the difference between Macron's marriage to a woman his 'grandmother's age' and the Nigerian aboki having multiple wives and children?

How is he right

How can a continent make progress when you create countries out of incompatible ethnic nations

A country like Nigeria should not have existed in the first place.

What of Cameroon

Pls he has no point

The effect of colonialism is still affecting Africa till this date

Africa is suffering because of the creation of incompatible nations eg Nigeria.

If slavery has been over for a long time, why doesn't he let sleeping dogs lie? Must he complain over the millions France spends trying to 'stabilize Africa' when such money came largely as a result of the forced labour of the slave trade and the free natural resources colonial powers sucked out of Africa? Besides we know what his idea of stabilization is. Backing Cameroon to seize Bakassi from Nigeria. Is that one stability?

Everyone knows the problem is another "C" not civilization but colonization. Many francophone countries don't have a central bank and their currencies are till date still being printed by France with the french Central Bank calling the shots. Please people should be careful what they listen to and believe. I thought a Daniel had come to France when Macron was elected now I see my obvious mistake. He is a French man with french ideals, he won't have seen it anyother way.

He has every right to complain because they (the french) are the ones doing the spending.

This part I agree with But I think we (Africans) must find a way to solve our number one problem (greed) because that is what these colonials taps on to exploit our resources. SO we are the problem not them.

i don't believe your assertion. Even the slave trade was by consent of wicked Africans. And there were lots and lots of communal wars and inter tribal wars, wicked practices like killing of twins, sacrifing human beings for gods e.t.c. What is the sense in a poor man and his wife that can barely feed himself and his wife bearing 5 kids. At the end of the day, he succeeds in raising the kids in form of a nuisance.

Are you trying to deny that the transatlantic slave trade was a fact? Are you saying the French and Europeans never carried out slavery?
