Oga no vex, in the days of Jonathan it was not so

Nigeria sold their head to buy cap

Which Gej is better.
Better read the post again . Boris invested the money in 2013. Im sure the investment is a subsidy scam

Anyone can lose money in investments. It has nothing to do with Nigeria like some people have commented online. Some made money from the unstable financial markets.
business environment is one of the risk factors in investments. Even if there are losses. Some environment have structure to help cushion it's effect. Bankruptcy in America is different from Nigeria grin

Not much has been said of the expertise of his financial handlers or even the true nature of the "deals"

It pays to invest in what one understands...

He was exceptionally naive to invest a significant amount of money in a high risk, high return market. Sounds like he was chasing high returns to cover prior losses and increased obligations.

If the economy were good, why would he lose that huge sum of money, am still surprise that some people are still defending this Godforsaken country...if he had known, he would have invested in oil firms in other oil producing countries like saudi arabia or even angola that are light years ahead of nigeria in the oil market...the worst thing any wise business man can do now is investing in this country that can't even refine there own crude oil and is full of corrupt individuals.

Among earlier cash woes, Becker was landed with divorce and paternity settlements in 2001 totaling more than £20million – to his first wife, Barbara, and Angela Ermakova, the Russian model who had his baby after a brief encounter in a London restaurant.

Oil is a bad investment

It doesn't matter what country you invested in

He didn't lose the money, the money is there but it will take time to get his investments back

The Nigerian oil is the richest and the purest, that's why Nigeria is in competition with Iran the mass oil exporter, if you sell 1 barrel of oil for $50, Iran will sell 20 barrels for $20

Let him hang in there, he will get his money back in due time

Invest in stocks and real estate, you will never lose money

Stock markets crash all the time - telling people that they will never lose money in stocks is dishonest.

Statement 1. Wrong.....not in all cases. In fact, wrong in most cases
Statement 2. Depends, could be completely lost, depending on the company.
Statement 3. Wrong. Where you hear this one bros?
Statement 4 Lie, lots of people lose money on stocks and real estate.

Your comment is full of fallacies bro.....no offence.

He disobeyed the first cardinal rules of investing: never invest in stuff you do not understand.

There are loads of thriving German companies he could have invested in:

- Deutsche Bank which is the largest liquidity provider in the forex market
- Deutsche Telekom
- He could even have bought a huge stake in Julius Berger Nigeria.

I also do not know why he and Barbara divorced. They looked a beautiful couple together.

Most people also seem to forget that companies like Oando lost money during this time. Crude oil prices collapsed between Late 2014 and 2016 and have still not recovered. At a point when the Avengers were in full operation, Nigeria was struggling to produce 750,000 barrels a day. It was that bad.

So how could Boris Becker have expected to make any money in the upstream oil sector?

Sir am not sure you read this post at all...

It said documents show that in July 2013 Becker held shares in an oil and petrol firm in Nigeria. But the investments tanked and last month he was declared bankrupt. John Briggs, Becker’s lawyer, told the London court: ‘He is not a sophisticated individual when it comes to finances.’

It probably was in Jonathan's time...

He actually typed something meaningful. Investment is a very critical decision. If you know about investing or if you've ever invested up to #200M in a company, you'll know he made alot of sense. While picking investment, you have to be very careful. I do not know the guy's profile but your board and investment team alone can't guarantee you a perfect ROI. The best investment is in that industry where you are good at.
