Following the imminent transfer of Alvaro Morata to Chelsea, a heated debate was stirred on social medical over the potency of Romelu Lukaku and the Chelsea’s new boy.
Romelu Lukaku was a subject of heavy transfer speculation to Man United and Chelsea but he chose to link up with his former boss Jose Mourinho in a record £75million deal plus add ons. He was handed the no. 9 jersey and so much is expected of him.
Meanwhile, Alvaro Morata is expected to finalise a £58million deal which totals to £70.6 plus add ons. He will slot into the lead attacking role for Chelsea but i fear he may struggle to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League.

Over the last three seasons, Lukaku appears to have scored more goals than Morata per 90mins. The Belgian has a 0.51 average to Morata’s 0.33. Lukaku has a conversion rate of 30% within the last three seasons while Morata managed a 27.08%, leaving the Belgian as the more efficient striker in the box.
Lukaku has the propensity to shoot outside the box and he thrives better that Morata in that aspect. He has 3.22 shots per game against Morata’s 2.17.
Hold up play
Lukaku makes runs on defenders but Morata plays with his back at goal. The Spaniard has the ability to bring his teammates into play, little wonder more fouls have been committed on Morata than Lukaku.
Duels
Lukaku completed 1.74 take ons per 90 in the immediate past season (1.18 in the final third) while Morata has 1.48 (1.08) for Morata. For the period in view, Lukaku still has a better take on ratio.
