Hello Nairalanders,
l,m a young man and agro business enthusiast, currently now is yam business onboard from this month, if you are interested I have alot of contact at mile 12 ,we buy from Edo state now because benue's yams are not in the market now. Sell and return to buy again, the dealers in the market are itching for any available new yam now and there is more profit now than later because of its abundance in next few months.
I'm in the business right now looking for more people to partner with me and I can help anybody with the nitty-gritty.
This is the period make good profit before yam become surplus in the market.
Your questions, ideas, suggestions, observations etc are welcome as we start this venture.

What capital are you looking at? I told some friends around me who may be interested.

How much are those yams in Edo and Mile 12 market?
What's the profit margin?

Sir Achis,
We spoke some days ago right,
500k upward should or you have money that can load full trucks alone, fine.
Profit BTW 10%,15%_20% per 100pcs for now.
Though, yam market is uncertain because of some factors e.g abundance in the market affect the price.
Knowing how to buy the yams from the farmers in the market and other logistics .
Varieties and size
Maintenance of the yams,to avoid too much peeling of the outer shell and breaking after purchase

I drop

A little on the high side but a lot of profit. Assuming some with 500k, will sell at 700k giving a balance of 200k
Removing other costs should havw at least 150k net profit

This should be an eye opener and expo for those of us in white collar jobs that money can be made in trading weekly but with a lot of travelling and negotiations to do.

He far market?

I inquired about Ibaji market in Kogi State and was told today is their market though you get yams as from yesterday. The yams I learnt are being fought over from the canoes transporting the yams when it reaches Egga market, Idah.

Most trucks here go to Onitsha, Port Harcourt.
I will be there later this month to find out more.
Prices for the biggest yam is maximum of 50,000

Ibaji yams are the largest I have seen anywhere
