Most are headed by care takers as the Governor can sack a duly elected chairman at any time. Until LGAs have full autonomy, you are just better off knowing the Governor of your state.

Knowing him will make you hold him responsible for the bad roads in your community. You need to know him to be able to ask questions about what he uses the funds he gets to do. If everyone takes time to know their LG chairmen and hold them accountable, things will.begin to change from the grass root....it is easy to break the head of a LG chairman at least even if you won't have access to the governor.
