Goodday all, I have an uncle that has a 10 plots in imo state and he wants to plant palm plantation on it. He is asking, can he intercrop dwarf paw paw or plantain on it? What do you suggest? Which would be better for him to intercrop on it? Please I need advises. If their are other alternatives, you can suggest pls. Thanks. |

Anyway, the recommended spacing for oil palm is 9m by 9m, although NIFOR recommend 8.7m by 8.7m giving 140 to 143 oil palm trees per hectare (15plots, 100m by 100m). Inter-crop should be 1.5m, 2.5m and 3.5m away from the palm tree in the first, second and third year(s) respectively. |
