Those already planning on becoming the next Lion of Bourdillon should chill first. The bill is not yet law. It needs to be passed by 16 Sate Houses of Assembly before it becomes law.

Agreed all these bills do. I don't know if it really matter to them. Just because young guy contest doesn't mean they are going to win.

Thanks for pointing that out. This is a long political journey, but if the youths can put enough pressure and run with this window of opportunity, some of the bills will become law.

If not, it would just be political noise meant to distract the youths...

How many 30 years olds are running for LGA Chairman/HOR and HOA?

Even if the age is reduced or removed it still won't stop the oldies from seeking power. Are the Youths of Nigeria ready to be actively involved in political participation?

Even LG councillorship elections are dominated by old papas who should have left that level for entry level youths. How will the Macrons of Nigeria then emerge?

Does that matter? How many 18 year olds even vote and are involved in politics. If competition from their elders scares them let them shut up. They knew this before the hashtag not too young campaign.

The point is you get opportunity to make change. There's no guarantees in life. It's obvious the law won't make people vote for young person just because they are on ballot. You have to compete.
