This is a very appalling and sad discovery that a serving Governor of a state that could not meet up its basic responsibility of paying hard working staffs their salaries and had owed payments for nearly one year is priding himself of hiring a fraudulent front and mercenary from the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago one Ms PATRICIA GARCIA-HENRY With Trinidad and Tobago International Passport # TB545544.

This foreign lady was appointed Director-General Bayelsa State Tourism Development Agency by the state Governor His Excellency Gov Seriake Dickson and the appointment was approved to take effect from the 10th of May 2017 with over half a million naira monthly salary and over $7000USD as monthly offshore maintenance allowance.

This is an insult to the sensibilities of hard working and law abiding citizens of Bayelsa State who have all the necessary qualifications to fill up that position of DG and this appointment have defiled the Nigerian Content Law of hiring Nigerians in local, state and federal levels before looking outside for expatriate empowerment .

The governor Dickson had shown reasons to believe that there is more to it than we could imagine with his careless nominations and appointments as recently observed in his appointment of Mrs Patience Jonathan as a Permanent Secretary during her reign as First Lady of the federation. This is condemn able and Governor Dickson should immediately withdraw such shameful appointment with immediate effect.

This Trinidadian lady from the Caribbean islands has no work authorization from the Nigerian Immigration, she has no proof of residency in Nigeria talk less Bayelsa State, what is the yard stick for her selection? whose interest is she protecting?, is she just a willing tool for money laundary across the caribbean islands for politicians or she is a mistress to the power that be in the state?
Whatever is the reason for short changing qualified citizens, posterity will not exonerate such cruelty and unpatriotism as showcased by the Government of Bayelsa State under Gov Henry Seriake Dickson

I beg to differ on your position, pa buhari has migrated so to speak but a true patriotic and fearless citizen of Nigeria would not follow suit.the fact that Mr jostico being the president of Nigeria is doing what is wrong it doesn't give us credence to join him in the wrongful act. we can do that only if we becomes a robot. The Governor is intelligent to have hired someone from the CITT. I feel we need to start hiring foreign hands as ministers in this country. The mediocrity in the civil service is terrible. Just like Nigeria football governing body hires a foreign coach in order for the super eagles to perform in a world cup tournament, I suggest Nigeria as a government should hire an expatriate as minister of power, for four years. Hope to see great changes soon.
Hiring someone like Elon Musk as the Minister for science and technology in 4 years will transform science and technology in this country.

You're right! Most people are not used to the idea of working with targets in the civil service, hence poor service delivery. Enough of doing the same thing the same way and expecting a different result, it will not happen.

This level of hypocrisy is the climax. What? Have we not been inundated with pictures of Nigerians serving in various capacities in diaspora. What happened to our conscience for goodness sake?
