Hmmm. That's probably due to hard luck (bad agent).

I have always known him to be a talented goalkeeper until some clueless Nigerians starts accusing him, without any evidence, of trying to sale Nigeria's friendly game embarassed

Mikel Set To Dazzle With New Green Boots Against Cameroon

When the Super Eagles of Nigeria file out on Friday in a World Cup qualifier against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, fans of the three time champions will see team captain Mikel John Obi wearing a new set of green boots, Completesportsnigeria.com has gathered.

“I have my new boots for the game,”Mikel told teammates in Uyo on Thursday.

Mikel who missed the teams last three games due to a muscle injury is expected to play behind the striker in a three man midfield alongside Ogenyi Onazi and Oghenekaro Etebo.

The Tianjin TEDA midfielder who admits the team is condemned to win on Friday is banking on the return of Victor Moses, Odion Ighalo in attack and the Leon Balogun in defence to secure maximum points in Uyo.

Nigeria lead Group B with six points from two games, four more than second placed Cameroon who are expected to arrive in Uyo Thursday evening.

I just don't like them playing this game in Uyo. As usual, all the professional prostitutes in town would invade their hotel rooms and drain the players of energy before the game even started. That's why the Super Eagles rarely play well in Uyo.

Cameroon has always defeated Nigeria when it matters most. The first 3 times they won the Nations cup, Nigeria was the victim 1984, 1988 and 2000.

Recent form weighs heavily in Cameroon's favour. While the Eagles failed to qualify for this year’s AFCON hosted by Gabon, the Lions went on to win it, tucking in the pocket six highly competitive games in the process. That victory also qualified them for the high profile FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia where they logged a further three games against top quality opposition. Beyond the results, those nine matches put together have helped a young and hitherto tentative new Cameroon team to rediscover themselves and gel as a unit. They will arrive in Uyo oozing with the confidence of African champions.

During the same six-month period (January – June) that Cameroon played those nine top grade matches, all that Nigeria had to show was a humbling 2-0 defeat at home to South Africa in a 2019 AFCON qualifier. That loss left a massive bruise on the Eagles’ psyche and they’ve not played another game since then for us to assess how well they’ve recovered. We must admit that it’s not the best preparation for coach Gernot Rohr and his team.

it has always being a tough one when ever the SUPER EAGLES of Nigeria and THE INDOMITIBLE LIONS of cameroon couple with the recent statistics of the SUPER EAGLES at the uyo stadium which has make many to think the EAGLES will loose as usual and many has also drop the opinion that things will change this time around.
