This is bad press.

Nigeria isn't the only country where torrential rains disrupts sports schedule due to the inability to deploy state of the art facilities. Even in Europe, many countries suffer the same fate. Not all countries are wealthy like UK, Germany, Spain etc. And even in these countries, when you go down their leagues to the 3rd and 4th tier, you meet facilities like ours which are easily affected by weather conditions.

If Nigeria is not as rich as the UK, how do you expect our facilities to meet their standards?

The NPFL can improve a whole lot but not with cheap and needless attack as this.

Spain isnt wealthy o

From the gate man to the nbr one man in every dept in the sports ministry is corrupt to the teeth this what you get

Which ministry is not corrupt?
Is it the church ministry or the mosque ministry?
How many of your friends and relatives live well above their legitimate earnings without paying taxes as appropriate?
How many?
Did you report any of them to the SFU, EFCC or their employers?
Can you please explain corruption again?

Spain isnt wealthy o

Kindly give us your definition of wealthy.

Spain is the 5th largest economy in Western Europe with nominal GDP of $1.4Trillion, the 14th largest economy in the world with GDPpc of $28,000! It is also an industrial and agricultural giant and a major export economy.

If Spain is not wealthy, I will like to know who is!!

Lol...Uncle calm down!

The truth is that the water-logged pitch isn't the main problem but the fact that a lot of things isn't right with our local league(e.g not paying players salaries etc).

Maybe the pictures the OP posted might be shallow and probably didn't depict the wrongs in our local league, but the truth is that players are looking for greener pastures in those same places you compared Nigeria to.

So if our local league is near the standard of those places, why are our players struggling to go there? Besides, who said our local league can't be better.

It's very important for us(citizens) to start clamouring for better things across all spheres of our life in this country,we have settled too much for mediocrity so we think it's okay if things continue to go on like this.

Sir,look beyond the water-logged picture. We all know it's actually way beyond that.

Have you ever been to an NPFL game before? If you follow the league, you will appreciate the enormous challenges it faces and how well the LMC has done in the last 5yrs.

NPFL has a long way to go but the way to success isn't by deriding it with cheap shots like the OP attempted. We who watch and enjoy it know the issues and are encouraged by the existing plans on ground.

As for our players going abroad, that is normal. No matter how good our league, players will still go to Europe and elsewhere. We have countless Spaniards playing in Germany and England, does this suggest that the la liga isn't good enough?

Appreciating your thing is not mediocrity. The English had long cherished their football way back when most games were on snow hardened, muddy and soggy pitches surrounded by standing only terraces with no covers.

The NPFL is good enough for we who watch it and can only improve as Nigeria and her economy improves. Football is only part of national life and cannot be better than the nation.

The below pictures show some of the challenges Nigerian Footballers face in the Nigeria Professional League.

Little wonder why Nigerians are carried away by foreign leagues like the English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A etc. Even the Players playing in our local leagues are fixated on transferring to a foreign league, especially one in Europe.

With proper funding from Government and the Private sector, hopefully the Nigeria Professional League will be loved by Nigerians and also foreigners.

This your post is very wrong and of no use to anybody, when are we going to stop marketing ourselves negatively, such things should not be found on the front page of a Nigerian site. I actually wonder who the op thinks he is mocking, the players, the league or himself? Please we have seen even rats on Barclay's premier league pitches not to talk of rain that is a natural phenomenon. If you feel you can't support our league then maintain your lane but don't come online to mock it baselessly.

.Nigerian professional league managers no dey hear

Since you know the pitch will be waterlogged why not start the season during dry season

We don't have standard pitches in Nigeria to start playing match during raining season

This is the season Nigeria league doesn't grow low turn out of fans bcus rain might probably beat the hell out of you

After they will be blaming us for abandoning our league and watching foreign leagues matches

angry angry angry
There is no way you can avoid raining season in this part of the world given the fact that the league has 38 games which spreads to above 38 weeks and 52 weeks make a year.
