Recently i noticed that my car acceleration is bad. It accelerates fine when it wants to but at a point it just stop. It will look as if the trottle is not even raising. It will sound as if there is no fuel but there is fuel. It sometimes pick from there again or engine goes off. What could be the problem? Please help me. I changed the fuel pump, it worked when i test run but after some hours, same problem return. Its disgracing me heavily especially in heavy traffic. Please help me

Run a powertrain scan first. Post result(s) here

Clean your fuel tank and nozzle and get another pump, preferably tokunbo or an original Honda fuel pump and trust me your problem is solved.

LOL, this is basically what kazeems recommend whenever a car has power loss issue.. CHANGE FUEL PUMP. Sometimes u can even change up t 5 fuel pumps and the problem persists.

@op, run a scan on ur car. This is a Honda, sometimes a bad 02 sensor can cause loss of power (that dreaded p0139). A bad airflow meter and faulty ecu can also cause it. No point throwing parts, get the car scanned as 9 out of 10 kazeems will tell u fuel pump is the culprit.

He replaced the fuel pump it worked and later failed again, the reason most people put alot of fuel pumps is either because its fake or they dont find out what is spoiling the pump.
Most times its dirt or lead present in our bad nigerian fuel. So changing a pump without knowing what spoil it in the first place will lead you to switching and switching of pumps.

Thanks alot. You are absolutely right. Many things can actually cause that. I will run a thorough scan on it tomorrow. I will give u guys update here. Thanks

Relax man, no insults intended in my comment. I already game my opinion do a scan as lots of things can cause this, not just throwing parts without diagnosing.

It's a 1998 3.5RL...........
It's a car i can recommend for anyone anytime any day. It has very very good performance. Just do ur normal periodic servicing. It answers u anytime

I actually took the car to an auto electrician yesterday. The fuel pump is damaged because there is water in the petrol tank. Seem like it's the water that destroyed the pump. He flushed it out, cleaned the injectors and replaced the fuel pump. It is performing well now though still test running
