10 Facts About Bajaj You Might Not Believe by AutoJoshNG: 12:56pm On Aug 04, 2017
When Nigerians hear the name “Bajaj”,all they can think of is probably a rickety tricycle (keke) or an average bike(Okada).

But this company is bigger than you know or expect.

Lets find out some facts .

1.
Bajaj group of companies(the parent company of Bajaj Auto) is almost a hundred years old ,91 to be precise .It was established in 1926,the auto section was later established around 1945.

2.
It was founded by Jamnalal Bajaj ,who was born in India and he was an industrialist, philanthropist and Indian independence fighter.

He was a close associate and follower of Mahatma Gandhi .

3.
It is based in Pune Mumbai,India ,its country of birth.

4.

It is the sixth largest manufacturer of motorcycles in the world, the second largest in India.

And apparently the most used motorcycle brand in Lagos.

5.
It has done quite well with motorcycles, but they hit jackpot with Tricycles ,as they are the largest manufacturers of Tricycles in the world !.

6.
It would interest you to know that they have also made a car(a mini car),in partnership with Nissian and Renault-The Bajaj Qute .

7.
They have approximately 10,000 staffs .

8.
As at the end of 2016 they amassed a revenue of about $3.5 Billion !.

9.
About 47% of its exports come to Africa and exports account for about 35% of their total sales. There is no doubt Nigeria is most likely their major consumer.

10.
Bajaj is currently competing with Harley-Davidson for the acquisition of Ducati.

Did we miss something ?

Lets hear from you .

No.4: Nigeria isn't in Lagos, it's vice versa.
What about Q-link, Carter, Jinjeng, Lifan & others?
Each state has its popular brand of bike, so don't use Lagos to judge for the whole Nigeria.

He didn't use Lagos to judge Nigeria, he said "it's the most used brand in Lagos (not in Nigeria)".

By the way, if you are able to dominate Lagos market, you can as well give up weaker territories and reassign all your resources to Lagos. Everything is happening there cheesy

Economically lagos market is about 50% of the Nigerian market. Once you succeed in lagos, it's granted you've succeeded in nigeria

A long black seat ... no demarcation between the rider and passenger's seat.

Much stronger and costs more that's why easterns don't use it for okada stuff. 2 bajaj will buy 3 ogbawa cycles with some change to register the 3 cycles cool

Can Africans afford the "quality" sent to other parts of the world?

If the rest of the world is sending substandard products to Africa, y'all have no right to complain because I don't see any reasonable thing Africa is offering to the rest of the world apart from evil!...If y'all want quality products, produce it yourselves and stop complaining.

LOL. He is not talking about market in the sense of markets in Aba. He is talking about market in the sense of GDP. Lagos is one of the major financial centre in Africa. If you succeed in Lagos, it can be safe to say that you have succeeded in Africa.

That brand is rare in the east, ogbuawa and other motorcycle manufacturers hv taken over the market. Though their products aren't strong like Bajaj but its a good one that the ppl patronized their own. That's d spirit, we will get better soon.

How much does a Bajaj motorcycle cost?
Re: 10 Facts About Bajaj You Might Not Believe by Richesquest: 9:37am On Aug 05, 2017
This product can be used in the delivery of icecream, agricultural purpose, FMCG distribution etc..it can easily be customized to suit your individual needs.

Bajaj Maxima Cargo is powered by a Japanese kubota diesel engine, powered with a dry clutch, has a Chassis and can carry load up to about 1 tonne. there is a warranty of 1year in place and genuine spare parts and after sales service is also readily available.

Why not simply save cost in buying this instead of investing a lot of millions in buying a regular pickup.

For more information you can call 09095940155 or simply visit our office at Metropolitan Motors Ltd 1-3, Akilo Road Ogba, Lagos.
