VIOLENCE,THE BLOOD MILL AND A TIME BOMB

While our general attentions have being drawn towards corruptions and poor leadership in the country. My attention has being drawn to the rising state of violence in the country though we are not in the stone age, the only term that properly describes the state of violence in the country is “barbaric zombiesm”. This term is no longer peculiar with the barbaric stone age; Day by day violence take a new shape in the country and I can’t help to say that its “worster” than the stone age. There are too many people willing to commit one violence or the other, including and especially murdering people.
This is as a result of nothing other than the idle state of mind of the people. A popular sayings goes like this “An idle mind is the devil’s workshop”, But I have now partially disagreed with that saying; “An idle mind is the devil’s factory for manufacturing very barbaric and violent reasonings, such that the energy required to think this reasoning out is enough to make 36 different “Dangotes” in 36 states of the country.
What can quantify the enormous energy required to think about slicing someone’s, including innocent children throat for any reason like turkey for Christmas.
How can a fellow human being shoot to death someone pleading to spare a life they cannot make an atom of? How can people come together to think about harming strangers, students, Corpers, Christians and Muslims alike or persons of certain tribe for any reason.
How can the elders of a community connive in a meeting to mobilize the youth into bloodletting and slitting of throats through communal clash?
How can even the educated youth agree with evil elders who are out for only their selfish interest to cause harm to an innocent stranger.
Is a billion dollar even worth a life, but surely this evil people will kill for reasons that is not worth a N1000 naira, they will kill for any reason you give them including owning a tv.
How can the Security Agencies get into a bloody fight with their collaborative colleagues when the common enemy is waxing stronger somewhere in the north- east and the creeks, not even for the shame of such reproaching act;

How can a certain group of people spread suddenly from their bases, coming into the city of their hosts to pillage it, raping and slicing women into pieces in farms and most surprisingly the government pay deaf ear when such report gets to them, they simply say ‘’they are not Nigerians’’ weather they are Nigerians or not, the fact remains that a grave crime is being committed on a dayly basis all over the country and such violence needed to be curtailed and the perpetrators brought to book.
But the government feel less concerned, preferring to talk about 2019 elections when you don’t know if your life will be spared.
How can soldiers of a civilized democratic country as Nigeria open fire on peacefully protesting citizens, oh how trigger happy these soldiers are, the same eggs they have being rigorously trained to pamper and protect is what they have repeatedly smashed with the world watching and most importantly someone was responsible for giving this orders repeatedly not once not twice. It only shows the reddish hate and violence in their hearts, it only shows how trigger –happy this soldiers are to kill innocent people without thinking about the consequences.
Surely a day will come when those giving these orders will become recipients of this trigger-happy soldiers.
What about those in the forests of the North-East fuelled by ignorant ideologies and sponsored by “who knows who” killing their brothers and calling them infidels in the name of a God they do not know where he resides or rest his feet. Does God needs men to effect a jihad? If God so willing to fight a holy war, is the perishable carcass of human flesh the most suitable material for the war?
Is not the mighty thunder, torrential rainfall, ravaging hurricane or the gigantic tsunami at his disposal? Is God now so powerless that he needs the same evil people who have repeatedly broken his heart with the continued raping, maiming, kidnapping, murdering, lying, deceiving, secret enjoyment and other constituted evil vices that they display without guilt, shame or reproach.
What God derives enjoyment from the continued blasting of 13year old human flesh. What God derives pleasure in the slitting of throats of young men. What evil men are able to sponsor this neforous acts brutal violence, continually watching the effects on news timelines.
This country is not safer than Syria, the number of casualties from violence resulting into murder is excalating everyday all around the country and account for more than those occurring in Syria.
Though these murders are perpetrated using the simplest available weapons like knifes, cutlasses, stones and locally made guns. This leaves one to wonder what will become of the country when AK47 riffles, shelling equipments, dynamites, machine guns and aircraft fighters will become most readily available like in the middle east. You can imagine the pictcure of such scenario where unhappy people are able to buy guns. Believe it or not, there are millions of Nigerians waiting for opportunity to buy guns, there are too many people waiting to be given the slightest reason to unleash wickedness. This set of people are in breeding stages, setting up their strong holds, oh thanks to the politicians who readily arm this people for their gluttonous selfish interests. Sooner or later, this people will be on rampage, unleashing terror even unto those who arm and sponsor them, unto those who support them in any way, unto those who keep silent because they believe such scenario will benefit them.
This people are not only the boko haram terrorist or the rampaging Fulani herdsmen, neither are they the Niger Delta militant. This people are your children, your youth, your policemen, Navy, air force men, your hungry trigger happy soldiers and most surprisingly your daughters.
They will rob banks, kidnap people, slit throats for no reasons rape and maim their victims, shoot peaceful people, engage in communal clashes, continue tribal wars and religious jihads in more notorious ways if a quick remedy is not proffered.
Those in the government houses who think they are safe and immune to the current violent situation in the country and therefore do not say anything and do not feel like anything should be done, because of course they have being waiting for such opportunity to skate away with billions of naira unnoticed.
Surely this set of people will be the target of violence, they will be victims of kidnaps, their children, their relatives and friends will be targets if a solution is not quickly proffered. Except something is done urgently, the violence being cooked in furnaces all around the country will get done and spilling over quenching the fire and wetting the pot.
It is everybody’s responsibility, to shun violence and drive it afar off from your communities, local government areas, towns, cities, states and your households. Pastors, Imams, elders, youth, the children, mosques, governors, senators, councilors, local government chairmen and traders alike, it is your responsibility to shun violence, resolve cases in peace take relevant decision to curb violence.
If this things do not fall in place the future is smeared in blood.

Your writeup is not objective enough. You are coming mainly from the point of view of an Igbo.

Be objective and place yourself in the shoes of the Hausas and Yorubas who have been denigrated, insulted and transformed into the villains of the nation by Nnamdi Kanu and his league of brainless apologetics.

Is it anyone's fault that they are in any ethnicity? Was it of their choosing? Why then would IPOB unleash hate speeches on EVERY SINGLE Hausa and Yoruba because they feel they want Biafra? Is that how things are done?

I am not condoning anything here but only pointing out that the violence (as it is now) was started by the Igbos. There were better ways to agitate for Biafra (as MASSOB has been doing) without calling people unprintable names.

The Fulani herdsmen menace is a criminal issue and should be seen as such. It is not all herdsmen that go about killing innocent people, neither is it all Fulanis that do so. We can protect ourselves from the rampaging herdsmen in various ways without making it a tribalistic or political affair.

Your reply is apt, and full of wisdom.

I think what we have playing out it conflicting cultures...

my only issue is, it might continue... Even if the North attack 500 Southerners, It would get worse, any action or reaction would only increase the insults...

But I have been following Yerima Shettima closely.... If he could lobby the senators and reps for a referendum... It would automatically end every insult...

1. It would prove that all those saying North are the ones holding them back wrong.

2. It would create a deep respect for the North by the Easterners..

3. The North can negotiate oil allocation with the east which is legal.

4. It would be on record that it was the North magnanimity and benevolence that gave Igbos biafra... something every Northerner would be proud about.
