Time the revenue service heads, and employee protection rights commisions looked into this.
First these hotels spreading everywhere in imo state sell their products at unimaginable prices, u talk of one person spending 7.5m naira in one night on drinks and ladies, a room clocking to 195k / night, and so on, yet they they barely pay their graduate staff roughly beyond 40k if not less. Extensively, this automatically reduces the revenue (PAYE) remitted to the state at month end. They mostly go for cheap contractors and suppliers, which result to minimal WHT as per state revenue.
Yet all the fortune of the state are constantly wasted on hotels.
Little wonder more peopl keep jumpin into that business everyday.
Especially the politicians who already know these tricks nd who would definitely not want to act otherwise.
Well what do you think
