BLACK MONDAY! Indorama Staffs Protest Against Poor Welfare And Marginalization O by jossyfyne: 3:42pm On Aug 07, 2017
New revelations suggest that there has been a silent war going on between the management of Indorama Eleme Fertilizer and Chemical Company and it’s indigenous staffs.

This silent war led to the peaceful match by the Indigenous staffs of Indorama tagged “BLACK MONDAY” which took place today in the company premises. The staffs complained that they are being paid N46,00 while their Indian Colleagues are paid N2.1m for the same job scope.

The company which was owned by the Nigerian Government was formally Eleme Petrochemical Company before it was privatized and is now managed by Indians.
According to our source, the Nigerian staffs of the company embarked on a peaceful protest on the 12th of July, 2012 demanding for a better welfare and for them to have a union, but this led to a misunderstanding with the Indians managing the company and as the chaos escalated, it resulted in the total shut down of the plant for a while.

On July 27th, 2017, the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo was in the company for the commissioning of the newly built world’s largest single stream fertilizer plant, the Nigerian workers demonstrated peacefully again to call the attention of the Acting President toward the manner in which the Indians are treating the them but all to no avail.
